I am giving these folks a 5 star, but including some feedback for things that require improvement.
I am glad to have a DQ back in the area. Thrilled even.
They need to work on their customer service and order taking (via drive thru). There is one person greeting, another taking over half way through and then another meeting you at the window. All is accomplished but it becomes confusing for communication.
I ordered an Orange Julius (like I often do...)...it had clumps of very bad tasting stuff (later found out it was "filler") throughout the drink. I tried calling the store 2x but no answer. The store was not visibility busy inside or out, so I'm unsure why they didn't answer the phone. I ended up going back to the store to remedy the situation.
The staff member seemed less than interested in my terrible experience with the drink. He did however offer me a new one. I requested a refund as those clumps of terrible taste just turned me off. No apology, no nothing. Maybe they are tired. At least the problem was rectified, so I'm content. Thank you!
The fries we bought were delicious. Hot and tasty! Thank you! DQ fries 🍟 never disappoint.
Dine in or take out! Drive through is an option too! While situated in the parking lot sharing many other shops, it makes for a tight navigation through parked cars...at least it's back in the area.
Due to it being in a shared strip mall with a doctors office, Best Buy and more...there is ample parking! Free parking!
I'll come back again and give them another try. Maybe in a couple weeks when they've had a bit more time to work out the kinks in the system. They are a new store, likely some new staff. I'm confident it'll be great!
I see they have patio space too. Woohoo! Can't wait for that space to open up.
Thank you again for opening a DQ close to...
Read moreMy husband, sister-in-law, and I stopped by this Dairy Queen on Sunday evening around 10:00 PM, well within their advertised hours (open until 1:00 AM). As soon as we walked in, the woman working the counter—an Asian lady—immediately tried to discourage us and the group behind us from ordering inside, instead pushing us to use the drive-thru. We politely declined and chose to order inside.
She appeared visibly annoyed and rushed through our orders, clearly trying to close the lobby early despite the posted hours. Not a great first impression.
We ordered Blizzards, which were delicious (definitely the highlight of our visit), and a spicy chicken sandwich. We were told there would be a 10-minute wait on the sandwich, which we were fine with. However, when we finally received it and opened it in the car, it was extremely disappointing. It looked like two small, dry chicken strips thrown onto a bun, with what seemed to be ranch dressing instead of anything remotely spicy. The chicken was hard, clearly old, and the sandwich as a whole was inedible.
We waited for that? Total waste of time and money.
Overall, the service was poor, the food (aside from the Blizzards) was subpar, and the staff seemed more interested in closing early than providing good customer service. The only positives were the Blizzards and the fact that the location was clean. Unfortunately, we won’t be returning to this...
Read moreThis is the worst Dairy Queen in Winnipeg, with rude employees who will screw up your order and basically tell you “deal with it”.
I really hate making a big deal about stuff like this. I hate giving min wage workers a hard time. I never complain, if my order’s wrong or whatever i just go on with my life. These people are underpaid and it’s not that big a deal.
Well today I bought a mini strawberry cheesecake blizzard, and paid an extra $3 for double cheesecake chunks.
And NO JOKE… there was literally 1 (ONE) cheesecake chunk in my blizzard. There was very little cheesecake crumble as well. If i had ordered a regular cheesecake blizzard from literally any other location, there probably would’ve been quadruple the amount of cheesecake.
I ate some then gave the rest to my little sister while i went inside to complain politely, like as politely as i could. The woman who supposedly made my blizzard came out, was already visibly angry, and asked to see it. I said my sister had finished it. She then said “if you don’t like the way i made your ice cream then maybe come inside before finishing it. I’m not making you a replacement. Bye.”
I just didn’t really bother responding to that, and left. Not gonna bother with this location ever...
