I just got an order delivered to my house from Denny's, through SkipTheDishes. I ordered 2 slam Breakfasts, they only sent 1. I ordered sourdough toast for both slams, they sent white toast. I paid a lot of money for the food that they actually did send, I won't be ordering from Denny's again, not in the restaurant or through SkipTheDishes. One of the people in my house today is not going to get their breakfast, unless I cook it myself. That's the reason I ordered this food in the first place. I'm very angry right now!!!
The previous review you just read, is what I wrote Wednesday morning after my order had been dropped off. I was upset and wanted them to know about it. I got a phone call from Denny;s Manager thursday morning; she told me she was checking into the problem I'd had with my delivery. I told her about the missing food. She told me that she had packed that order herself, and that there were 2 slam breakfasts in the order. Somewhere along the way, one of the orders didn't make it to my house. We were both stumped as to what happened to it. I told her that I'd already been refunded part of the money from my order; she said she didn't think that was enough. She wanted to give my family 2 complimentary meals, on Denny's, to make up for our experience. I agreed to her suggestion. She also offered to deliver the meals herself to make sure that we actually got them this time. She brought us 2 of the best tasting roast beef dinners we've had in a long time. It came with home fried potatoes and corn, 2 sides of very good tasting gravy, and 2 different kinds of dessert. We thoroughly enjoyed this meal! But what I enjoyed even more, was a business that actually cared about what happened with it's customers. Denny's manager went out of her way to make up for the bad experience I'd had; I definitely will be ordering...
Read moreMy recent visit to Denny’s left me utterly disappointed, especially considering I had specifically chosen the hotel due to the presence of this renowned chain in the area. Excited to share my favorite dishes with my family, our experience fell far short of expectations.
Upon arrival, it was immediately apparent that the service was lacking. The staff at Denny’s seemed disinterested and inattentive, making it difficult to even place our order. We waited for 15 minutes without anyone checking on us, despite knowing that my son has difficulty controlling his emotions, which could have been alleviated with a prompt response to his hunger.
Furthermore, our orders were incorrect not once, but twice. My partner ordered the Grand Slam platter, not a sandwich, and despite pointing to the menu, the order was still wrong. Similarly, my son received a cheeseburger when we had clearly asked for a hamburger.
Adding insult to injury, when we requested takeout containers, we were completely ignored by our server. Frustrated, I got up to retrieve them myself, only to be met with hostility. The server put her hands on me and exclaimed that she had "had enough" of me.
This behavior was not only unprofessional but also completely unacceptable. It's disheartening to think that the staff at Denny’s would lack empathy towards a customer, especially one who was simply trying to ensure his son's comfort.
Overall, my experience at Denny’s was marred by poor service, lackluster food, and unacceptable behavior from the staff. I would caution others against dining at this particular Denny’s location, especially if they expect basic courtesy and...
Read moreDenny's food is largely prepackaged and reheated in the restraurant. Having said that, it is pretty good, and you are assured of getting the same food in any Denny's you visit. The food is tasty and mostly breakfast fare, their skillets in particular are very good. Compared to other breakfast chains, like Salisbury House, the portions are a bit skimpy and expensive. A typical meal is around $20 with a beverage, more with a tip. Also Denny's pancakes are often dry and not fresh and light like Salisbury House. Dinners are very tasty, but again, are reheated affairs like the roast beef. The Bronx spaghetti and meatballs are light on tomato sauce and the pasta is microwaved. It sticks together and is dry. The meatballs are juicy and delicious, but the rest of the plate is a let down. However, the biggest let down is the staff. They were plentiful and an ever present presence during your meal. They really do try to give you the bum's rush out the door. Hurry up and eat should be the motto. I've had a waitress take my plate away as I was chewing my last bite, fork still in hand. Another gave me the cheque and asked "Would I like to take that Coke with me?" Not a welcoming restaurant, and not one to frequent. Save your money and...
