My Husband and I live out of town, but we go into Winnipeg for appointments and to visit my Husband's parents.
We decided to drive in and have dinner with our Mom, but she already had McDonalds that day, Earl's the day before and Tony Roma's the previous weekend.
There's not many other choices on Pembina for food. I refuse to give Boston Pizza my business any longer (Pembina location) I don't like Tim Hortons or Burger King and our Mom has a fish allergy, so no Asian cuisine.
I've never been to 5 guys before, so when my Husband suggested it I was like, "What's that?" Lol
My first impression when walking in was "chaotic". Lots of yelling and confusion 🤯😵 But it was clean and well maintained.
Not a huge fan of the box of peanuts. A lot of people don't wash their hands, so I won't touch "community" snacks.
The food-app delivery drivers have nothing to do with 5 guys, but it's unfortunate that 5 guys customers have to put up with their arrogant and rude behavior.
The staff were friendly, but hard to communicate with due to the language barrier 😶 The cashier (Asian) was very friendly, while the cooks seemed very grumpy.
A lot of complaints on the price. Honestly, I think the price point is decent for what you're getting. Fresh, made to order and large portions 🤑💸💵💰
The food itself was delicious. Very fresh and made right in front of us. I ordered a cheeseburger with everything except mayonnaise and a side of fries.
The fries were awesome! Fresh and tasty… and you get extra in your bag. Normally when I get fries at other establishments; they're dry and stale, hard to swallow and taste old… Which is why I always opt for onion rings.
When I didn't see an onion rings option I thought, "Oh no!" … but the fries were delicious.
I will definitely be coming back,...
Read moreIt’s been quite a while since I’ve tried Five Guys. I believe I tried it when it was first introduced in Toronto which was definitely over 10 years ago. I don’t remember how I liked it and was skeptical going back as I figured it wasn’t my cut of tea.
I was finally able to go back today with my family for dinner. We ordered 4 burgers, 2 Cajun fries, 2 drinks, a side of gravy, hot sauce and mayo.
To my surprise, I was blown away at how amazing the food tasted overall. The burger (beef patty especially) was cooked perfectly, infused with flavour and tasted very good. The best part was that the burger was well put together and stayed together after every bite. The presentation was absolutely over the top. The Cajun fries were also very good and complimented very well with the side of gravy.
I’m giving this a 4 star overall rating because there are other burger spots and smash burger spots that I personally thought were really over the top.
Needless to say, I would still recommend Five Guys and will definitely be going back at one point or another to have an...
Read moreFive Guys, why do you make a great burger and fries but cheap out on the experience for take out orders? If don't want a soggy burger, better it it at their location. If you order a take out burger at any of their locations, when you get home, you end up with soggy bread because they use tin foil to wrap the burger. This traps the heat and the bread is a wet soggy mess. They must know that McDonalds, Wendy's or any other burger restaurant uses the proper burger wrap. This wrap has a thin paper with a tin out foil layer. This allows the moisture to be absorbed and the thin layer of the outer foil keeps the heat in. It's not rocket science. Owners of Five Guys, you can buy this from your restaurant supply company or even on Amazon sold by MM Food service. If you want your customer to have a better take away experience, do the right thing and buy the right thing and stop cheaping out. Here's an images of what the take out burger...
