We were visiting Winnipeg for the weekend, and this was my first time at The Forks, and also my first time trying Habanero Sombrero! My boyfriend’s sister brought us here for dinner on a Friday night. With so many food options to choose from, it took us a while to decide, but we were all in the mood for something fresh and we’re so glad we picked this place! As a vegetarian, I went with the pinto bean tacos, and honestly, they blew me away. I’m usually cautious with bean tacos since they can sometimes lack flavour or have a strange texture, but these were some of the best I’ve ever had. Perfectly spiced, super fresh, and packed with flavour. My boyfriend got a mix and match of beef, pork, and fish tacos, while his sister ordered all pork tacos, and both of them loved their meals too. We also shared a side of homemade chips with guac, which was flavourful and just the right texture for scooping. Overall, a 10/10 experience. If you’re visiting The Forks and craving something fresh, delicious, and satisfying, I definitely recommend giving Habanero Sombrero a try!

Born and raised Mexican, living in New York for 10 years, came to visit Winnipeg for the first time, I WAS SURPRISED HOW GOOD EVERY SINGLE TACO WAS! I asked for more limes because well, again, I am Mexican and that's what we do, and they were so kind to just cut some limes in half like we do in Mexico and I returned the little chunks of lime they have because I didn't want to waste them, ALL WITH A BIG SMILE IN THEIR FACE! in any other place they would have been annoyed by me, so to wrap it up AWESOME SUPER GOOD BUENISIMOS TACOS IN WINNIPEG AND AWESOME PEOPLE! my beautiful country is so very well represented at this place in your beautiful country, Muchas Gracias! 🇲🇽♥️🇨🇦

Whenever I travel to Winnipeg, my first stop for food is usually Habanero Sombrero. They have a great menu, and my personal favourite is their fish tacos. I can never get enough of them, and I always expect them to be fresh, which I love. The portion size is just right, and the prices are reasonable. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I believe that The Forks has come a long way and made many changes to keep up with the times without losing its historical charm. The eco-friendly atmosphere is great, and if you're in Winnipeg looking for amazing tacos, you definitely need to check out this place.

I’d give this place a zero if I could Never again! Be careful going to this resto. After spending several hours there the wait staff who was anxious to leave early called the police claiming we had drank all day when in fact these two weren’t even present and did not serve us. I was stopped by 4 RCMP and given multiple road side breathalyzer tests all of which came back fine and instead of telling me why I was stopped the officers lied and claimed I failed to signal but I was already in a private parking lot. (gas station) and didn’t make any turns. when placed in the back of the cruiser the officer forgot to close the computer screen which said that myself and my boyfriend spent the day boozing it up at the Mexican restaurant and then drove off. Slanderous! Not my boyfriend and after half a glass of beer x2 over 8 hours and lots of food and dessert this was an awful experience. Next time we will take our $300 and spend it where it will be appreciated. In the meantime, we plan to speak to a lawyer over how we were treated because of this resto’s false claims. Never will we visit here again and we will make sure we tell everyone we know...
