The food and beers are pretty steep in price. It's nice you can walk up get a beer outside. Lots of seating but it does fill up quick. Security is around every corner which defiantly impacts the overall atmosphere. If you want a place that's comfortable for all ages and demographics you might want to consider what message is being displayed when you have that many security. Is this really a safe place for family or friends to come together and hang out? Or should we avoid going somewhere that is quickly becoming a hot spot for violence and crime. It's up to the city to address this problem of homelessness and crime and the resolution is not more police and security. As far as I'm concerned the Forks is an integral part of this city and if you people care about your main tourist attraction, or downtown in general, this will have to be resolved. Read moreIt's finally nice outside and people are going out to experience some of the beautiful sites we have in Winnipeg. I love going to The Common and viewing some of these happy folks. After work I'll hop on one of my bikes and head to The Common to have a bite to eat,a drink(one of their awesome Craft beer or cider choices) and some genuine interaction with the community. You can also go for a 35 minute boat ride and learn a bit about some of the places along both the Assiniboine and Red River. The staff are quick and friendly and the majority of the people down there are quite friendly as well. Every year I look forward to hanging out at The Common and spending time interacting with others in the community. Go on down there and check it out for yourself. I think you'll be...

My girlfriend and I went specifically to The Common on Christmas Eve to enjoy a few beers and soak in the holidays at The Forks for a bit as we had nothing to do until dinner later that evening. I had recognized Everett the last time we went to the Forks. We enjoyed several flights of beers and they/we sang Christmas music and generally everyone was in such a great mood. It was really nice to see. As a rule my better half and I always sit at the bar anywhere we go and it’s times like this that don’t disappoint. The beer selection was fantastic and between her and I we drank the list. It was a truly special Christmas Eve and we are glad we got to share...
