Excellent experience in restaurant despite the waitress not having acknowledged the presence of myself and the other individual I was with. Was met with hostile remarks upon leaving the bar as though, as a customer spending over 90$+ the security guard who was initially kind and friendly then assumed public/human rights were not known. Was coerced and mildly threatened. Was then followed by security for 2-3 blocks, near my home, in which also caused other home owners to come outside concerned over the matter. I am entirely baffled by the audacity and unwillingness to speak over something that was mishandled entirely, while being respectful yet not met with the same regard. I mentioned I started to record the interaction and was then threatened further. Identification, house keys, and debit/credit cards were offered and was told by security that he 'did not want them' -- yet physically intimidated myself and my partner continuously for over 15 minutes over a marginal matter.
This occurred this evening. Being mocked, ridiculed, threatened, and chased, is entirely inappropriate. To be made to feel unsafe is cruel and this should not be regarded as acceptable in any sense of a functioning business. People should know their rights, articulate them, and not be made to feel unsafe and threatened. The event that happened was illegal, atrocious, and highly inappropriate. The level of unprofessionalism...
Read moreThe music is always way too loud here. Having been to other Leopold's, this is unfortunately just part of their atmosphere and it doesn't seem like something they intend to change any time soon. The tables and chairs were sticky (it was a mistake to wear shorts here), and when my utensils came to the table, they were greasy. The food was okay? I asked for no green onions on the perogies I ordered, and they followed that, but it came with a dill garnish that wasn't mentioned at all on their menu, and it was chopped so finely that my food would've been cold by the time I would've gotten all the dill off and I didn't feel like sitting there nitpicking at my food for 15 minutes just to eat it, so the surprise garnish made my food inedible.
Customer service was good. I left my phone at the table and the guy who served us actually ran out to bring it to me which was above and beyond my expectations of wait staff.
Things that would improve Leopolds for me would be better attention to the sensory details of the environment, specifically lower music volume or the installation of sound absorbing materials, and better wiping of the surfaces that customers interact with. A clearer menu would also be good (ie...
Read moreMy friend came in to order out for brunch and was told she wasn't allowed to and had to sit down, after sitting down for about 10 minutes with no customer traffic she placed her order at the bar then ran some errands and came back 30 minutes later. She asked the blonde manager if she knew when her food would be done and the blonde haired manager got snappy with her. Due to the treatment and not feeling comfortable eating food there because or it and not wanting to wait she asked for a refund and was denied one and told they don't do refunds. another server brought the food and my friend asked who the manager was and they said it was the blonde girl who had been so rude so my friend brought that up only for it to be shrugged off. Due to anxiety and not liking confrontation my friend left crying and too uncomfortable to eat the food she ordered incase something was done to it. She goes here often and was a good support only to be treated like she was doing something wrong for no reason. You lost a loyal customer and many of her friends because she's too uncomfortable to return due to the managers treatment...
