Gotta love being a Google local guide. They remind you to make reviews.
I was so happy when I noticed a Sals would now be close to work (it being such a Winnipeg staple, not to mention a great reminder of growing up in Winnipeg and good ol' trips to Sals as and kid)needless to say not many were as excited as I was. I dragged and couple of coworkers over, but unfortunately they weren't open yet. So.. we came back the following week when they were said to be open.
We walk in. Looks nice, it's clean. There were 2 other patrons finishing their food/coffee. We had an amazing waiter, he was very pleased and polite. We let it be known we were on lunch break from work, made our orders.. and sat there... we didn't receive our food at all! And it was 45 mins later! Couldn't find our waiter (I assumed on break) Ann employee was at the server stand with a bucket of water and a rag looking confused, wiping down the clean wall. I ask her for help with our order. She looks at me like I'm an alien. She does not say anything. Just points over to the front counter; where all the employees were standing behind chatting. One was wiping down utensils with with a rag!? I was confused on that. It's highly unsanitary (made me think of maybe those other coworkers were right. This place is gross.) I ask for help saying our order is not here, it's been 45 mins and we have to be back at work like now. So they go and get our food and place it in to go containers. We pay each about $20-$25 for a pop drink and a meal hers was fish mine was the mushroom burger. So we're are still starving! Get back to ours desks, I cut my burger and give her half, the fish was soggy, but I ate it. I tried to eat the burger but it was so dry. It was gross. She broke the fork when she tried to pierce the burger. So that says a lot. Wasted 25$ on .... literally an iced tea! Long story. But I worked in the/as a server business for over 10 years and none of this would be acceptable. Not to mention especially being it's first week open. LET ME KNOW IF YOU NEED ANY HELP! lol I dont know what's happened to the service industry. .. but it...

Read moreThe restaurant is noisy - it may be helpful have some acoustical tile or material hangings of some sort to help cut down on the noise. We arrived about 11:40 am for lunch and ended up waiting over long for our waiter to take our order. Then our food was not served to us until 12:35. All 3 of us were not that impressed with our meals and we were pressed for time so the slow service was a problem for us. When we spoke to the waiter about our meals taking so long to come to is, he said he wouldn't charge us for our beverages and he gave us some donuts free of charge. Then when paying for our meal the manager gave us each coupons for a free burger. We were told they were short staffed today and that was the reason for the delay - but staff made sure we were "compensated" for our troubles. So we left feeling much better about...
