Taste of Mediterranean — Restaurant in Winnipeg

I’ve gone here multiple times before and the food never disappoints.

This time I decided to stop by on a Wednesday around early noon so after the lunch rush. I went i, there were 2 people eating and when I got to the service area, there was no one around and I stood by the register waiting to get served. It wasn’t until I had to make an audible noise for a lady to finally come out and help me out.

I decided to get the 1/4 chicken and rice and I know they have that as a special on Thursdays but that’s my favourite dish from this place so I still got it. I’m not sure if it’s because it’s not the special that day but the take out container they packed it in was in the rectangular container when before I’ve gotten in the square containers. My question is, does it only come in the square container during the specials day?

Walked in one time to buy falafel meal but was frustrated while eating. Very bad experience, I did not even enjoyed my meal! The serving was very small compared to my favorite greek fastfood which happen to be so far right now so I couldnt go. If you are craving for greek, just go to a fastfood. Taste is more legit, and better price. I ordered a two side combo should be 13.99 + 1 but the server/cashier charged me almost 21 cad because she charged the rice as extra and not part of the combo! 4cad for a very small bowl of rice. And I argued why, she gave me back 4cad but while I was eating came back to me and told me I need to pay her 1.50. Such a rude! I paid back after I ate. Should have suggested to me the cheaper option and not surprising me when paying! Please train your staff, this is such a very bad experience and will...

Excellent food. I very much enjoyed it.

The staff were friendly, and very relaxed and friendly.

I only knocked off a point on the atmosphere, and I'm sure given time it will be corrected no issue, they're in the middle of renovations, so there is building materials to navigate around, and the bathroom was a bit tricky to find. But that's not what I was there for. The food was great and the staff were great, so don't let a little atmosphere get in the way if you want to have some Mediterranean food. I really did enjoy it.

And I'm quite sure that when the renovations are complete, it'll be fantastic again.

All I have to say is don't judge a book by its cover. The atmosphere dock is just a minuet technical critique, don't let that dissuade you from trying this lovely food.
