The Sunset Terrace Eat + Drink — Restaurant in Winnipeg

The Sunset Terrace at the Hotel Fort Garry is hands down my favourite patio in Winnipeg. I’ve celebrated my birthday here and keep coming back — it’s that good.

The setting is beautiful, especially in the evening as the sun sets. There’s something magical about the vibe: elegant yet relaxed, with a fun, upbeat atmosphere that makes it perfect for both casual nights out and special occasions.

The food is outstanding — always fresh, flavourful, and beautifully presented. The cocktails are just as impressive, and the service is consistently excellent. The staff are warm, attentive, and genuinely care about creating a great experience.

What truly makes this patio stand out is the live music. It brings everything together and adds a vibrant energy that makes the night feel special from start to finish.

My personal favourite downtown Winnipeg patio experience since it launched 5 summers ago! The Sunset Terrace gives you a simultaneous feeling of Edenic seclusion from its urban surroundings and being amidst a very cool LA establishment! Food ranges from great breads, dips, hand-held appetizers and salads to a more substantive sandwiches served on The Fort Garry Hotel’s signature sour dough bread…all great choices depending on your hunger and cravings! Very disappointed in the reservation process. We were sat in the middle of the patio with our 6pm reservation. We ordered the tower of drinks which was lovely looking and the drink were tasty but while we waited our waters blew off the table soaking my phone. We asked to move to one of the many open tables so we could enjoy our meals without things blowing off the table but they informed us that the tables were reserved for future reservations and we couldn’t move. We chose not to stay for dinner and just finish our drinks and find a more accommodating environment.
