So me and my Wife were in Santa Maria, Sal, Cape Verde on holiday from our home in Manchester, England 🏴.
We saw barracuda several times during our stay in Santa Maria and the day we leaving we headed down to barracuda for lunch.
We were warmly greeted by a waitress who seated us outside as the restaurant is on the beach so to drink i ordered a large local beer(Strella) and my Wife opted for an Aperol Spritz.
We browsed the menu and to start my Wife opted for the prawns and I opted for a Octopus and prawn in a vinegarette, My Wife really, Really enjoyed her prawns as they were tasty, fresh and delicious and she loves seafood so she tried my Octopus 🐙 and Prawn in Vinegarette, The dishes tasted amazing, one of the best meals we had in our 2 weeks in Santa Maria.
For mains I opted for Lasagne with a side order of fries and some garlic bread to share, My lasagne was delicious, well presented, tasted delicious and the flavours were amazing.
We then ordered another round of drinks 🍸 which again were well presented and went down a treat in the Santa Maria sun 🌞.
Service was fantastic, Great selection of food and drinks, Attentive staff, Food was amazing, Restaurant was spotlessly clean inside and out, Generous Portions etc.

Read moreWe came for dinner and ordered the black rice for two people. I have had this rice many times before in other countries/places and it is a seafood rice (paella style) cooked with the ink from the squid. Whe the food arrived, all the fish/seafood had been coated and deep fried and was on top of the rice. I have celiac disease and cannot eat wheat so o question the waiter what had been done to the food and if wheat flour had been used. She just replied "yes, I think it was fried". But with what coating? Corn, mandioca or wheat? She went back to the kitchen to check and came back with the answer "it was fried!". Obviously I couldn't eat it, and quite frankly had lost my appetite with such an incompetent service. When the manager came to our table and asked if I didn't like the food I explained that I could eat it because they had used wheat. He replied that I could eat the rice. No, actually I can't because the wheat flour was on top of the rice, it was contaminated! So he just blamed me because I should have warned the waiter before ordering the meal. The fact that the waiter was very incompetent and unhelpful clearly doesn't matter! So I just told him that I know how this dish is supposed to be prepared and wheat does not come from the sea, there is no reason why a seafood rice should contain gluten. He then told me that I will have a very hard time finding gluten free food in Cabo Verde as "all" the food in the country has gluten. I have had very good meals in this country without gluten, even the catchupa the national dish I was able to eat without any issues. So, if you have the misfortune of having celiac disease, stay away from this place! They don't seem to know anything about food and the service...
Read moreThis is the worst restaurant I have even seen. We have an anniversary with my husband , and went there on recommendations and were shocked because they poison me. This restaurant poison me co much , that I didn’t sleep whole night ,vomiting and my stomach was hurt so much that I wanted to cry .I eat tuna tartar and octopus , my husband only prawns . He told that don’t want to eat much that’s why his stomach hurt not so long and without vomiting . After restaurant I eat nothing only sparkling water. Don’t go there if you want to be healthy. P.s. blaming us for drunkenness is the extreme degree of ignorance. We were sober because we rarely drink and we drank a glass of wine at your establishment. and we ate the last time at 13.00 at the hotel and never got food poisoning there during our 10th stay, so I can safely say that your restaurant is to blame for this. With this approach to clients you will go bankrupt. And by the way, my review of poisoning is not the first and I’m sure not the last. Good luck in...
