Maybe restaurant are letting their guard down when they get good reviews. In Santiago it is normal to read the menu on your telephone by QR link. For a restaurant in this price range its is cheap. I tend not to take my phone with me when going for a restaurant and being forced to sit and scroll on my phone again... But this in general.
Because of this QR system it took us some more time to see what we wanted and clearly the waiter seemed inpatient and little annoyed. And kept hovering around us while we checked the menu. This was very unpleasant to us.
They claim to be a Meat and Wine place, to me you should have some more choice in your wine is.. my friend wanted a beer, me a wine. And especially in a Wine producing country you would expect some more proud in the selection you offer. Turned out the wine per glass was limited to the house wine, which was not what you hope for when eating steak. Choice per Bottle is great and sure had very good options.
Appetiser was Carpaccio which was amazing and cant remember i ever had a better one! The ribeye was not really a first choice cut and had way too much fat. Ribeye comes always with fat, but in this price range you may expect a better cut. The Flank was a beautiful cut cooked perfect, but clearly poured with whatever kind of oil or fat, completely ruining the flavour of the meat. What a waste that was, it actually made me feel nauseated in my stomach.
Cannot argue the setting or atmosphere, thats in the eyes of the beholder. Yet it pretty close to the road and therefore noisy from cars, but that is your own choice and can be expected looking at the location.
I can therefore not recommend this restaurant. Maybe they had new chef and service staff since second to last review. But it was a huge...
Read moreI dined here alone for dinner. The restaurant feels like it is stuck between trying to be fine dining and trying to be an entertainment venue. The prices are fine dining prices, the waiters adopt a fine dining air, the decor may once have been considered fine, but cartoon place mats? QR codes for a menu? A piano bar?!!! The whole place seemed confused and lost, like some new manager is trying to change things and it just doesn’t work. The food was average (the steak was quite fatty, though tasty and the cream spinach was nice, but very salty), and the dish I had been told and read was amazing, the carpaccio, has been taken off the menu. The choices are limited, both for cuts of beef and for wine by the glass, but the prices are high. I won’t be back, there are plenty of better options...
Read moreSteak and wine, what more do you want? This was close by the hotel and had a very good menu. The restaurant was nice and had a good atmosphere.
Went here for dinner and was not disappointed. The wine was recommended by the restaurant and was ok, but should have stuck to my own experience.
The food was fresh, and all cooked well. The steak was tasty and had the right temperature. The salad and starters were right portion. The dessert was good and tasted like it was homemade.
Service was good and food was out fast. The price is right and not over the top. As mentioned, there is a good menu and list of wines.
Would I...
