This is probably one of the hardest reviews to write. It was neither terrible nor great, but the mediocrity despite the beautiful presentation made it even more disappointing.
👨🏻🍳 Service and atmosphere: we went there on a Monday night, and it was not crowded. The staff was attentive and helpful with giving us recommendations. We got a table on the 2nd floor terrace, and it was quite nice. The music was not too loud either.
🦐 Food: as an appetizer, we got Asian shrimp rolls (we wanted the Wantes Capitales, but they were not available). It was good, but you can really mess up fried spring rolls.
I got the Maracuyá y golden berries for my mocktail, and it was delicious.
Now came the main course, we ordered Gran Plancha Marina to share. The dish was actually the reason why we picked this place to try for a special occasion. It was pretty, but the taste was just disappointing. The shrimps tasted the best, but the heads were falling out so I’m not if they were that fresh. The octopus pieces were not evenly cooked. And the seasoning was just lacking. There were spices, but there was no taste.
🍰 We got two desserts: Suspiro Capital and Crème brûlée de coco. My husband loved the Suspiro which came with lemon ice cream that balanced the sweetness very well. The crème brûlée was a very good fran but not a crème brûlée. The mango sauce and pineapple cream missed some acidity that would have complimented the dish well.
💵 Price: it was not expensive and not cheap. We felt like we could get something better at the same price.
🤔 Would I come back? I would come here if friends invite me, and there are no other places to go, but I wouldn’t come back here just because I...

On 01/25 We came here to celebrate our last night in Chile. We ordered a ceviche, something really simple (for a Peruvian restaurant.) The dish was unbelievably salty I felt the salt rocks in the preparation. I mentioned the issue to the waiter and he brought me another ceviche that was again… Salty. The waiter took it away again and insisted on bringing a new one and he did. But this time the ceviche was awfully bitter. My take away was that they tried to dilute the super salty sauce adding more lime juice but the lime juice was bitter already. At that point I just said. This is not going to work. The manager looking us from a corner totally avoided the feedback, and we had no other options that just pay and leave. The waiter offered to bring a new dish but at that point was really late and there was no point. It’s really a bummer that a place like this failed in something so simple. I hope they improve their food quality and their accountability...

Pescados Capitales truly stands out on all fronts. The restaurant is beautifully designed, with a warm and elegant atmosphere that makes you feel welcome from the moment you walk in. The menu is original and full of creative, well-balanced dishes that celebrate seafood in the best possible way. Every plate we tried was exquisitely prepared and beautifully presented — a real culinary delight.
