Food: we came here for seafood and we got FRESH seafood! The philosophy of this place is to let the natural flavors shine as much as possible. Although I love heavy seasonings, I was not disappointed at all.
We started off with La Calma Platter, grilled octopus, and scallops aux gratin (machas) to share. We loved all of them. The grilled octopus was AMAZING.
I’ve tried different entrees, but the one that tasted the best was the grilled rock fish (Pejeperro). The skin was super crispy. For side dishes, I absolutely loved their Kale and baked tomato salad. The grilled mushrooms and Pan fried tomatoes and chilis were good too.
We finished off with some pannacotta and cheesecake. I thought that the apples in the pannacotta were missing some acidity but my husband loved it. Regardless, the cheesecake was TO DIE FOR. It was dense, creamy, and super smooth. This had to be the best cheesecake I’ve had in Chile.
I also had their strawberry juice, and it was fresh and not too sweet. Loved it!
Service: the staff were great and friendly, and we were very happy with our server. Plus, most of them seemed to speak English!
Atmosphere: the atmosphere was great and wasn’t too loud. It had more of casual vibes yet elevated at...
Read moreI had heard so many great things about this restaurant and unfortunately we were very disappointed. The prices at this restaurant are absolutely absurd and you get the smallest amounts of food. I could go to Alinea in Chicago and pay the same price, for better food and larger plates. I'm not one who over eats and I certainly do not expect a full plate, but to go to a restaurant that is this upscale and only recieve a teeny tiny filet of fish is pathetic. We left so hungry. We ordered three Chilean Sea Bass and one order of swordfish, 3 sides (which were very odd), and a bottle of wine..... over $400 USD. This was the biggest rip off while in Santiago. The service was excellent and the atmosphere is fine. Nothing to write home about. If you're a foodie this is definitely not the...
Read moreFascinating that this rates only 4.4 average stars as of May 2025. We went based on its listing in Eater and could not have been more happy with our dinner. The service was friendly and spot-on with recommendations. We would not have thought to order oysters with uni (soft-on-soft texture?), but they were an impeccable showcase of Chilean seafood from north to south coasts. The king crab pasta was another knockout. I guess some of the reviews comment on prices and portions, but our server did not try to upsell, and we thought everything was a perfect mix of excellent quality, combinations, and execution. Like some others have said, we think this rates tops in the world - every capital would be so lucky to have a comparable...
