There used to be the grand buffet in the old hotel which was pretty popular. Food and service were excellent back then. However, the new one my family and I just experience ain't good enough to even break par.
Service ...awful.. We have the membership card which we were asked to register in order to receive the 5% discount on the first time we had breakfast there. The discount remain during our visit for dinner days after.
Then.. on the last day of our stay, we went back to get some breakfast and we were asked to pay before heading into the restaurant, which is no big deal yet the reception lady said she couldnt use the membership card because the machine she were using can't accept the membership card. Therefore we didn't get our discount...
I asked, then just use other machines? She insisted we have to pay full price ... assuming she doesn't wanna brother with it. 30mins after.... She finally let us in and other staff bought the machine that actually work..... (With an disgusting attitude)
Kinda stupid if we didn't stand out ground.... We would have loss our discount due to her convenience. What a disgrace for Macau...
Read moreLocated on level 3 of Grand Lisboa Hotel Palace. Service given greatly varied among the staff. Thankfully most of the staff were friendly and approachable. Wide variety of food, snow crab leg, fresh oyster, there would be “special” limited food during the buffet session, example, 6:30pm it was roasted pork, 7:30pm it was steamed garlic abalone. You won’t miss the special food timing. The chef would go around hitting a gong to inform guests on it. Also, there was a bbq section, which I thought a lot of guests weren’t aware of it. Because the bbq section was sort of out of the restaurant. There were a lot of fresh fruits available too.
One negative aspect of the buffet, was the serving of stinky tofu. The smell from the stinky tofu was quite horrible. The smell did traumatise my appetite. Maybe the management should like into isolating this dish to a corner, so that the guests would not smell it.
Overall experience...

We were told conflicting information by different staff at the hotel & casino service desk (Much confusion around whether our room discount would apply on the Mid-Autumn public holiday). Even the restaurant’s own staff gave us different answers on the buffet price - Something for its administrative team/management to reflect on.
We were eager to make a reservation because of the buffet’s reputation, but left sorely disappointed. Their dishes were extensive, yes, but forgettable. Ironically their selection of dessert was the best, in contrast to all the other cuisines they offered. They charge separately for seafood options,...
