Holiday Inn has two hotels in Macau, this is the newer property at the Sands Cotai Central complex on the Cotai Strip. We recently had a nice stay here as we have in the past.
Reservation was made on the Holiday Inn website. Prices are a bit better if you use your HI membership to reserve. You will also be given vouchers for one round of welcome drinks at the lounge bar next to the reception area as well as late checkout allowance by reserving your room this way.
Checkin was a bit slow, nearly 10 minutes at the front desk. Facilities are what you'd expect of Cotai Strip properties, with direct access to the shopping area, restaurants, gym, pool, casino and free shuttle service to/from Sands Cotai Central.
Room is about as nice as you'll find for a Holiday Inn. Good size, modern furnishing, comfortable beds with fantastic pillows. Chair was comfortable, work desk are spacious, lots of space for luggage. Bathroom equally spacious and modern. Room including ironing board, hair-dryer, fridge, flat screen TV with English channels, safe, working A/C and Wifi.
All in all, no real issues with this Holiday Inn property on the Cotai Strip. Unless you simply want something more high end, this is a very good mid-range property, more similar to 4 star properties yet with more...
Read moreEven though the start of my stay was marred by the late room availability ( we had a total of 4 rooms and mine was only ready after 7pm), the Front Desk staff and Housekeeping service team had been very helpful and detailed. They made sure to take note of what I used and needed and ensure my every needs were met. I would like to make special mention of 2 gentlemen; a Mr Lei and a Mr Derek. They were at the baggage pickup point. After collecting my baggage for my family and I, Derek asked if we needed transport to the airport. He then proceeded to help us secure a large taxi to fit all 5 of us with 6 large luggage. He was assisted by his colleague Mr Lei,who walked us to the cab and explained to the driver the location we had to go. Such service even though we had already checked out of the premise. It sure left a very positive impression on us. Keep up the good work. You sure made us believers of Holiday Inn Cotai Macau genuine...
Read moreI have two favorite hotels in Macau, one in Macau side and then this one which is near the airport. there is free shuttle but you need to know which one (look for the ones for sands cotai). its no-thrill as you would expect from holiday inns but it is clean, comfortable and spacious. and there is even now free WiFi in the room. from the hotel, you can take a us$5 taxi ride to the taipa village (官也街) for cantonese seafood, thai or local portuguese food (there are at least 10 to choose from). from there, you can take the bus to the Macau side for more sightseeing or you can take a taxi. you can even just stay in hotel because there are nearly 30 restaurants here, and more if you walk across the street. Life is full of choices and in Macau, there are...
