House of Dancing Water (HoDW) is a world-class, family-friendly performance that will have you highly entertained 90 minutes. We have watched several times over the years and will have no problem seeing the show again in the future.
The performance remains high-calibre and offers great entertainment value, the likes of which you would expect of the best shows in Vegas, Broadway and the West End.
Directed by Franco Dragone, one of the original creators of the Cirque du Soleil shows, HoDW is a fantastic show. There is a developing love story, featuring a hero, his companion, beautiful girl and the bad guys. The story setting changes from modern to mystical, yet remains adventurous from start to finish.
The show develops around highly acrobatic numbers, various forms of entertainment thrills and features an incredible stage that changes from dry ground to deep pools of water, throughout the show.
The stadium and seating is round and ascending. Think Shakespeare's Globe with the stage occupying more space and the action taking place as much in the sky as on the ground (or water) and this is what you get with House of Dancing Water.
In the end, this is a very impressive feat of technology, creativity and solid performance, creating a truly excellent show, one well worth making advance reservations to see when visiting Macau.
Tip: Shows are held twice nightly at 5pm and 8pm. Presently there are no shows held on Tuesdays or Wednesdays, which is worth considering if you are planning a short midweek trip to Macau.

Read moreGreat show! It is located in the City of Dream complex in Macau. I was staying in Hyatt, and they have bundling package to see the show, as well as other hotel in City of Dream complex. Nearby hotel are the Wynn and the Sand Cotai complex (St. Regis, Sheraton etc). If you’re not staying in Macau, you can also get waterjet or turbojet ferry from one of the pier in Hongkong, it is just around 1 hour trip and almost every hour departure is available. Expect for the stunts, acrobats and dance, the storytelling though...not so much hehe. Nevertheless great experience, definitely worth watching the world biggest indoor water performance. Try to buy the best seat in the house, or as near as possible. Reserve the seat in the splash zone for more interesting experience. They will provide you with complimentary raincoat, so don’t worry about your clothes and belongings getting wet. The show started 8pm sharp, you can get snacks before, and enjoy it inside the theatre. There’s also gift shop with merchandise relating with the show, you can get shirts, key chain, pens and other stationeries, and other novelties of the character you see on the show. Please be mindful of the other guest, as cool as the show is, don’t try to record or taking picture...

This show is AWESOME, this 360 degree stage comes to live, from a 15-20 meter dive pool to a flat stage within sec. And the Amount of crew and back end crew that makes it happen. Hands down impressive.
For a price to pay to watch this 90mins show is, money well spend, with immerse experience and close up encounters with the crew...never a dull moment.
This time round was a little special, I brought along my 18th month son and a 2.5 month infant to the show. To my surprise my 18th month son loved the show so much, covering with so much applause and not even a sign of scared with all the effects and loud music.
The Crew there is nice to accommodate for my family with 2 kids.aiding us whenever we need help during the show. Thus for those who comes in a family with kids.. I would also recommend this place, as your kids might love them too.
