It’s a well known institution & we missed out last year cos we rocked up too late in the day, so this year when we returned to HK it was back on our wish list to try - 📍 Cheung Hing Coffee Shop (祥興咖啡室) 🤗 . It’s an old school HK style cafe that still serves up simple staples that are just done well. Their Pineapple Bun (菠蘿包) is a must try - super fluffy and that crunchy, sweet top on the bun is the soul of this amazing bun. Their egg tarts were fresh out of the oven, so it was super hot & flakey and one of the best I’ve had this trip (so much so, I had to grab another one to eat before leaving!) 🤭😍 . The Satay beef noodles were okay, if you’re not super hungry - you could give this a miss and save room for the pineapple bun and egg tart instead. We also added a HK style Swiss Chicken Maryland (瑞士汁雞髀) - the meat was just falling off the bone and it tasted soooooo good too 🤤 . To wash it all down, you can’t not get a Signature HK Milk Tea! Fragrant, smooth and delicious it’s a perfect drink to accompany this amazing food! 🤩 . I was sooo glad that Wifey planned in a visit to this cafe and sooo satisfied & full upon leaving! There is typically a queue here but the wait shouldn’t be too long. Also, remember to go in to speak with staff & let them know you are waiting (& number of ppl) so you get a number before joining the queue 🙌🏻 . Definitely worth...

Opened in 1951, Cheung Hing Coffee Shop is one of the oldest cha chaan tang in Hong Kong. You will be smothered by a wave of nostalgia once you step inside the restaurant. The coffee shop still preserves the old wooden diner booths and patterned floor tiles after all these years.

Most importantly, their pineapple buns and egg tarts are PHENOMENAL. I’ve eaten countless egg tarts and bo lo bao in my life, and these are definitely one of the BEST I’ve ever had.

*Egg Tart in Puff Pastry 酥皮蛋撻* They keep popping out new batches of hot and fresh egg tarts throughout the day. The puff pastry shell is so flaky and buttery, filled with lightly sweetened egg custard. The egg filling is thick, jiggly and creamy with a bright orange color.

*Pineapple Bun with Ham & Egg 厚切煎蛋菠蘿包** They have a variety of pineapple bun sandwiches to choose from, such as pineapple buns with butter (菠蘿油), spam and egg, satay beef and grilled pork chop. I am impressed by the orange-y runny egg yolk and thickly cut ham. The pineapple bun has the perfect crunchy cookie crust.

*Pandan Butter Toast 咖央多士 Skippable — wished the pandan butter layer was thicker!

*HK Style Milk Tea 港式奶茶* This is the best hk milk tea I’ve tried in this trip. Well-balanced, smooth, and creamy. Gulped down the whole cup and left...

This place was awesome! Totally worth the trip. We stayed at Central and took a tram over but it was totally worth the trip down. We came on a Saturday so the queue was surprisingly short and we got a seat after 10 minutes queue

The bolo bun with butter was so soft and tasted so great that we had to order another one. The next one we ordered was with ham and egg and it tasted awesome as well. The egg tart was also extremely tasty with just the right fragrance of egg

We had the milk tea which was just the right amount of sweetness. (Well I had the iced tea, if you order the hot one you will have to add the sugar yourself)

Tried many cafes in Central area and they do not come close to this. Honestly can’t believe it’s only 3.8 stars (at the time of me writing...

**Cheung Hing Coffee Shop – Simple Comforts Done Right in Happy Valley** A no-frills Hong Kong-style café offering **surprisingly refined classics**. Their instant noodles with beef strips and sunny-side-up egg may sound basic, but the **beef is uniformly tender**, and the **egg yolk boasts rich, Japanese-egg quality**. The pineapple bun is also a must-order – sweet, buttery, and perfectly baked. With its **retail HK charm** and efficient service, it’s a great spot for a quick, satisfying lunch or brunch. Don’t expect fancy ambiance – just honest, well-executed local comfort food. **Verdict**: Perfect when you’re craving classic Cha Chaan Teng flavours done with care.

Overrated and overpriced. Ordered a normal noodle set, everything in the bowl is not good. The noodle is not well cooked, it's still too hard. The soup is not hot enough, maybe it's due to they only put soup on a everything pre-cooked ingredients, the so called signature fry egg with beef is pre-cooked, hard like a paper. The Sunnyside up egg is also pre-cooked, u can feel the egg yellow is COLD. With nearly double price compare with normal local restaurant, it costs 60hkd. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Loads of celebrity signature on the wall shows how overrated it is.
