GAMBAS AL AJILLO (Spanish Garlic Prawn)
This Spanish tapas was a perfect appetiser to start our meal here. The shrimps were meaty and well deveined. The garlic flavour came together well with the dried chilli flakes while there was a hint of sweet paprika that gave the dish some depth. Some bread (sourdough!) would have been a perfect complement for the dish to cut through the greasiness.
SPAGHETTI CARBONARA
Overall, I was happy with this dish. The carbonara was well balanced and nicely presented - pasta was cooked al dente, the sauce was not too thick and the saltiness of the pancetta ham cut through the heaviness of the cream well. The serving of mushroom was very generous and served to add some bite to the dish. I’d have preferred thick cuts of pancetta but altogether, a delightful dish that suppressed my cravings
SLOW COOKED LAMB SHANK
The star of the dinner and my favourite. A hallmark of slow cooking is the tender and flavourful meat it can produce, and this lamb shank delivered on all accounts! The meat was tasty and fell off the bone with a light pull from the fork. The mash potatoes that accompanied the lamb was no slouch too! It was smooth with a nice buttery taste.
All in all, this was a great experience at a neighbourhood grill house. They had a open kitchen concept for those who’re interested to witness the Grill, and also a nice patio area for those who...

Not pictured, but we started with a lobster bisque soup which honestly had 5 spoons worth of. Didn't even fill 1/4th of the bowl it came in, and wasn't even jam-packed of flavour to make it somehow worth while. In fact, it had very little taste.
Their version of paella made from orzo, was probably the best thing we had here. The shrimp had the good flavour, however the rest was lacking. All quite bland. Thankful for the salt and pepper shaker.
Last but not least, they’re roast chicken. Looked great, and a good portion for the cost. However, it came undercooked and squishy! After telling them, they brought it back, and added some heat to it. For the most part it was now well-cooked, HOWEVER, one part was still pink and raw to the touch. Upon calling the manager, without having said one word to her all night, her answer was "you want it well-done? Our chicken is made to be NOT well-done but if you want well-done. can do". We didn't want to argue, but... I don't believe any restaurant should be making their chicken intentionally raw. That is unless they are trying to poison us. Nor should any manager have that attitude. We will not be going back to this restaurant again, and it’s not because of the raw chicken (things happen), but because of the overly defensive manager who felt personally attacked.
Sad, the restaurant feels like such a missed opportunity. With a grand space, unlike many others in Hong Kong, we really wished the food, and...

We picked a bottle of Marchesi Torrigiani Chianti 2018 to pair with beef. Medium-bodied. Rich bottle. Strawberry on the nose. Notes of plum, raspberry and oak. A bit too acidic for my taste though.
Beef tartare was served with toasts. Chopped fresh beef mixed with refreshing raw onions and vinegar. Very appetizing.
Cabonara spaghetti came in big portion enough for sharing. Thick parmesan and egg yolk sauce that was filling and satisfying. In addition to the standard pancetta, the dish was topped with 3 big pieces of parma ham.
The best was yet to come.. USDA grade hanging tender was superb! The steak was chargrilled to perfection and cooked exactly how I wanted - medium rare. Tasted beefy, moist and concentrated. So far the best hanging tender steak I've had lately! The baby zucchinis on side were sweet and crunchy.
Bought a tin of their homemade palmiers to take home. Delicate and flaky with a sweet buttery...
