The Blind Pig — Restaurant in Hong Kong Island

There was a T8 advisory coming and so I didn't intend to go too far from the hotel. Although I have had multiple trips to this part of HK, I haven't visited The Blind Pig before so this was a first.

Given the incoming weather, unsurprisingly the streets were emptier than usual, so walking was a breeze to get to the Blind Pig from East Hotel. (To be honest I have no idea why it is called TBP, my mistake for not checking).

TBP is a hole in the wall opposite the Coast Guard, whilst when you look at Google maps it is a stone throw from the coast line, in reality, between you and the sea is a 20ft high wall that means you can see nothing and you could be 20km away!

Nonetheless, TBP is a welcoming joint, with maybe 12 tables. A small bar setup, attentive and friendly staff. The decor is typical pub, warm, clean well maintained, with a couple of screens showing sports.

There are two or three tap beers including Fat Siu Yau IPA ( pretty good)

The food menu is extensive but largely confined to traditional pub fayre. I asked the staff for a recommendation between burger and ribs and he opted for ribs.

Good recommendation as the ribs were superb. The menu picture doesn't do justice to what will arrive on your plate. A full half rack, with coleslaw, corn and fries. The ribs bathed in a smoky, rich, bbq sauce, falling off the bone.

Some of the best I've had in a long time.

In looking at Google, most of their custom is lunchtime (guessing office). I'm sure the night I went was abnormally quiet due to the weather.

Around the East, there are not many western options in walking distance.. The Blind Pig is a very good one!

I will be back both to try more dishes and find out what is...

This platter is perfect for sharing with a group of friends while watching sports at the bar. The seafood paella features a mix of mussels, prawns, and squid in saffron rice. The seafood was fresh and the rice was full of flavor from the saffron and tomato-based sauce. 3️⃣ Refreshing Piglet $62
The "Refreshing Piglet" is a mocktail made of vodka, elderflower cordial, lemon juice, apple, and cranberry juice. It has a nice balance of sweet and tart flavors with a subtle floral note from the elderflower. The apple and cranberry juice provide a refreshing, fruity kick. This would be a great drink for summer nights when you want something light and crisp.

The Angus beef patty is very juice,succulent and has very nice beefy flavour. . . With oozy melted cheese. . . Tastyyyyyy.Highly recommended! . .
