The Spice House Restaurant, run by Thai people, has quickly become one of my go-to spots for delicious Thai cuisine. This was my third visit, and once again, I was impressed by the flavors and quality of the dishes.
💭 I decided to try a variety of dishes this time, exploring the rich flavors of Thai cuisine. I ordered the Thai-style fried rice, green curry, Phad Thai, stir-fried pork with chili and basil on rice, and, of course, my must-have, the refreshing mango juice. Each dish was priced at $80 and the mango juice at $40, offering great value for the quality and portion sizes provided.
⏰ The Spice House Restaurant consistently delivers on taste and authenticity. The Thai-style fried rice was perfectly seasoned, and the green curry had just the right amount of spice. The Phad Thai was a delightful mix of sweet and savory, and the stir-fried pork with chili and basil had a satisfying kick. And let's not forget the mango juice! It was a tropical delight that perfectly complemented the meal. Although my friend tried the watermelon juice before, I personally preferred the mango flavor, which was more like a refreshing...
Read moreThe Spice House Restaurant in Wan Chai boasts a convenient location, just a two-minute walk from the Wan Chai MTR Exit A3, making it easily accessible for diners. The food here is above average, offering a satisfyingly familiar taste, though it doesn't quite deliver any surprises that would set it apart from other establishments. Prices are on the higher side, which is somewhat expected given the area, but they still remain acceptable for the quality provided. I tried their "Tom Yum Noodle," which, while flavorful, came in a surprisingly small portion. The dining space tends to be quite packed, which can make for a lively atmosphere, but it also contributes to a feeling of congestion. Additionally, during holidays, the absence of set meal options adds to the cost, making the dining experience a bit pricier than usual. Overall, while The Spice House offers a decent meal, the combination of small portions and higher prices may leave some diners...
Read moreWan Chai is a good district to find Thai restaurants, including the handful of eateries along Amoy Street. We ate here back in December 2017 and found our lunch to be good but not great.
This is a simple canteen like place with small tables and stool seats, not too dissimilar to what you find on the streets of Bangkok. Menu is the expected range of Thai cuisine. Service is friendly and relatively quick.
During a recent lunch we had the pad thai with chicken, which was pretty good. Dish tasted as expected. We also had the minced pork with thai basil that was also good. Dishes are prepared with no chilis but there is fish sauce with chilis on the tables so you can spice up your dish to your liking.
Overall, not our favourite place for Thai in Wan Chai but we enjoyed what was served and would have no problem eating here again if in the area and...
