The old Wan Chai Post Office is a declared monument building and the oldest surviving post office building in Hong Kong. It is situated at the intersection of Queen's Road East and the Wan Chai Gap Road.
Today, the old post office functions as the Environmental Protection Department and offers a small museum experience for interested visitors. Opening hours are 10am to 5pm (Mon-Wed) and is close on Tuesday and Public Holidays.
What you will find is tiny, L-shaped, single floor building at the street corner. The building is painted white with green-teal staircase rails, door and window shutters. You'll find a small staircase leading up to the building as well as simple colonial architecture in the building facade and pitched-roof structure.
