The room was quite good. It wasn’t too spacious, but it’s Hongkong and Wan Chai district. There was anything you may need in the room: TV, electric kettle (they brought more coffee and tea packages every day, while cleaning up the room), small fridge and even humidifier with ionizing option. We knew from the reviews they offer only paid water, so it wasn’t unexpected for us. Although we thought they bring two bottles of water every day, but actually it was just on the first day (we would be ok with paying for having it every day, because there was no difference in prices for water in 7-11, circle K or Wellcome and the final payment at the hotel for these two bottles). The hotel offers shampoo, shower gel and hair conditioner, although the conditioner didn’t come out in our last two days, although the bottle seemed almost full, so maybe they need to check it. But you have to bring your own toothpaste, toothbrush, cotton sticks and other stuff you may need. The place is not really soundproof, so you may hear your neighbors coughing or slamming the doors while coming home late. The café was closed due to renovations, but we knew it and there are enough nice places to eat around. The staff was friendly and nice, although we had some difficulties on the second day of our stay because we were sleeping almost the whole day after arrival and the cleaning lady called and started to ask questions in Chinese, although we were answering in English. 😅

Good value for the money - esp. in Hong Kong. Would come again. PROS: - very clean, good scent, quiet, pretty well lit. - allowed early check-in and upgraded to larger King room with sofa and space - especailly rare in HK hotels at this price point - Timothy checked me in - mostly friendly staff - clean exercise room with 4 machines - running, biking, elypitical. But pretty small. Basically, a room converted to exercise room - secure - key in elevator for floor access (but it's a bit tempermental) - elevator is quick - Pretty convenient to public transport and short walk to MTR busses and food. Room details: - 4 bottles of water and bathroom items for the forgetful plus ample towels, cloth bathrobes (like five star places), safe, small refrigerator, work desk - blackout curtains worked very well - quick hot water - good ventilation in bathroom; decent size - good light switch controls, power ports and USB ports CONS: - though quite acceptible, it shows a bit of ware. Nothing unsafe or unclean and would not affect my willingness to come again. But not a 5-star hotel) - from lobby to elevator must go up short set of steps so not wheelchair friendly. - one front-desk woman was a bit unfriendly - like she didn't want to be bothered. A local with Assie accent. - Thai massage type places across the streed makes the area seem a bit seedy

Excellent location really cannot be beaten. Great for solo or friends groups you are very very close to all the bars. Awesome. Will I stay here again probably not unless I only go for party. For the money I paid I think there are better hotels. Breakfast is not worth the money. Better let something deliver or get something outside, there are many places around the hotel. Hotel breakfast does not meet Western Breakfast expectations. The water bottles are not complimentary which you do not see a lot in hotels in this price class, 1 bottle costs 3 HKD Fridge is not cold or working very well. You cannot open the window which is annoying I like to sleep with window open. The hotel is very very humid and they even have a dehumidifier in the rooms. It's all a bit worn including the A/C not the most comfortable one. Lifts are up to speed , never a long wait. Cleaning staff very friendly and reception also. They do have good music in the lobby in the afternoon and free tea. Wan Chai has everything you need around the corner of this hotel. Friendly staff good cleaning. Beds are comfortable. I don't care about all the green environmental things I just want comfort, so I do understand the other reviewer on the shower head. Indeed it's not a good one. Anyway good stay if you want to be really central and location is the most important.

Stayed here for 10 days. Here are some of the pros

Location to MTR and the tram ding ding stop

Nearby welcome (supermarket), 7-11, pizzeria and circle k. The lobby has been renovated and looks nice.

Free smartphone with wifi and long distance calling

There were some issues during our stay but when they were brought to the front staff attention, they were rectified. They were accomodating when I raised concerns with them and when we were moved to our last room, the following concerns were issues but there wasn't any point to hassle them any further.

We stayed end of March into April. The weather in hong kong is very humid. My partner who is from Australia remarked how hot the room was. We had the thermostat set at 16C day and night and it was still very warm. To get a breeze, the humidifier was on all the time and we would still wake up sweaty.

The fridge in the room doesn't really keep things cold. Our fridge stopped working and we had to ask someone to fix it. After someone came by, it will keep a bottle of water but as one of the maintenance staff commented "This fridge won't be as cold as the one you have at home" We'd have a few bottles of water in there and it was just barely cool, not really cold. Not sure if the low working fridge is common in Hong kong or if it's just that hotel. (I've been to Japan and never had issues with a low performing fridge before).

There is no ice machine. Unfortunately, my partner got food poisoning the first night there and when I asked for ice, the manager got us a cold pack but it wasn't very cold. I had to ask for ice and on the third day, the housekeeping staff took away our ice bucket.

Housekeeping - I feel like our linen wasn't changed regularly. Because I'd look at the edge of the bed where my pillow was and I noticed before we left, the sheets had separated from the bed and when I returned at night it was still that way. Also, the room attendants never had a cart for linens in the hallway as it was all kept in a closet but I'd never seen them walking around with bed linens so again I'm skeptical if linens are changed regularly (even if you don't display the environmental green card on the bed). The attendant didn't seem to notice or care to replenish our liquid hand soap regularly (it was replenished ONCE on the day someone else cleaned our room). Even though there were a number of used towels when she came to service the room, she always left two bath towels which meant I'd have to call down for more towels in the evening.

Empty bottles of toiletries would be left by the bathtub and not removed, and the toilet wasn't always cleaned thoroughly.

The restaurant is currently in it's soft opening so there's breakfast and a lunch buffet but the selection is ok but I wouldn't say it's big.

The lobby is not wheelchair accessible nor are the elevators accessible from what I observed. Something to keep in mind if this...

My open letter dd. 5th of May to the hotel.

Dear Kew Green Team.

Since more than 10 years I remeber I am a loyalty guest in your hotel. I have always enjoyed traveling to you. Also I know that the Corona happenings crashed a lot of good things from the past. I also work for the HoReCa and hospitality industry and I know about all problems exist from this.

From my first arrival at your hotel until today, over these ten years, you have continuously deteriorated your service. Probably the most drastic moment was the closure of your restaurant, which has offered your guests a breakfast. Until now, I was able to compensate for this with the coffee shop outside on the ground floor. But that has now also changed. After the remodeling, the breakfast choice is a disaster.

Now you have installed water-saving gates in the shower. So your guests should use less water. The only thing it did for me was that I had to shower 4-5 minutes longer to wash the foam off my body. An absolute disaster and a NoGo. Whoever ordered these shower heads should be beaten to death.

The fact that they offered me as a guest two vouchers for a coffee from a coffee machine on the street is a disgrace!

But probably the worst thing is that their manager told me that the provision of shower caps and toothbrushes had been banned by the Hong Kong government and therefore the entire bathroom accessories service had been cancelled. I can take the piss myself. It's unbelievable that their director dares to tell guests such a fairy tale. I've been pissed off ever since.

That's why I booked my stay at ‘The Wharney’. There is a breakfast (which doesn't meet western standards) and a swimming pool (which is currently closed). Nevertheless, the quality of the room is excellent and the overall package at this hotel is much friendlier and more appealing than yours. There is also an executive lounge where guests can enjoy hot and cold drinks throughout the day and work in a...

5-Star Review: Kew Green Hotel, Wan Chai – A Hidden Gem in the Heart of Hong Kong!

If you’re looking for a stylish, comfortable, and well-located hotel in Hong Kong, Kew Green Hotel in Wan Chai is a fantastic choice! I recently stayed here and was thoroughly impressed by the overall experience.

Location – 5/5

Nestled in the vibrant district of Wan Chai, this hotel puts you right in the middle of everything. You’re just minutes away from the MTR station, making it incredibly easy to explore Hong Kong. With trendy cafés, bustling markets, and authentic local eateries right around the corner, you’ll never run out of exciting things to do!

The rooms are modern, clean, and well-designed, making excellent use of space—a crucial factor in Hong Kong. The bed was super comfy, and the floor-to-ceiling windows offered a stunning view of the city. I also appreciated thoughtful touches like the complimentary minibar and fast, reliable WiFi.

Service – 5/5

The staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive. They provided excellent recommendations for local dining and were always ready to assist with any request. The check-in and check-out process was smooth and efficient, setting a positive tone for the entire stay.
