Mama Mia Pizza & Pasta — Restaurant in Hong Kong

I discovered this restaurant on a rainy Sunday, and i had an unexpected excellent experience ! Warm welcome from the manager, excellent service, even the classic rythm & blues playlist is matching the manager's voice ! Foodwise, I went for the weekend set lunch. Classic beef balls with home made sauce, perfectly moistured meat & Caesar salad, crispy pancetta and anchovies. For the mains, the ribeye was excellent. Thick and tender, perfectly cooked as requested, came with veggies al dente and home made mash potatoes. The chicken Parmigiana was also perfectly cooked : cripsy outside, juicy inside, perfectly melted cheese on top. The French fries were also perfect : crispy and tender inside, not oily. Both mains and both starters were served at the same time (very rare in hk). The dessert was a home made Italian style icecream, also excellent.

The house white wine was very easy drinking.

In conclusion, fresh and top quality food, perfectly cooked by master chefs, and perfectly served with great hospitality. For 180hk$, it is most probably one of the best weekend lunch sets for mediterranean...

Wanted a steak and saw the positive reviews and attractive photos. Ordered the set dinner with burrata salad, ribeye, ice cream on a cone, and a glass of house red for just $40 more. The salad didn't have a lot of cheese, but well-balanced with the greens and pomegranate. A nice portion, roo. For the steak, I was expecting a smaller cut cuz it's a set meal. Boy, was I wrong. Not only was it quite large (by HK standards), but it was a solid medium rare -- a consistent pink throughout with some spots there were well cooked. I'm not sure if the quality of the meat is a cheaper one for the set dinner compared to the à la carte menu, but some bites were grainy/chewy. Not so much because of the well-done bits, but perhaps overall the steak lacked fat and flavor that I expected from a ribeye. But still a decent meal given the size and pinkness. Friendly service -- my water was constantly topped up. I saw the massive wagyu beef burger on the table beside me. Definitely going for...

Our lunch consisted of two sets priced: $208/pp, which was a reasonable deal as it was still CNY.

Appetiser: 10/10 The Garden Salad came in a generous portion. My friend got the Meatball with Basil Tomato Sauce, definitely worth it. (I also recommend their calamari!) 👍🏻

Main: 8.5/10 Loved their Ribeye Steak! It was juicy and tender. Mash potato and broccoli was also yummy.

Dessert: 6.5/10 Got their passion fruit gelato, it seemed to have more of a milky and vanilla flavor than passion fruit. But I'm not complaining as it was a delicious way to end the meal. 🤩

Overall paid: $550ish (including service charge + calamari)
