Even better than I remember.

FOOD - Delicious. We ordered the set menu, along with some appetizers and everything was just so delicious. The O-Toro and Unagi was such a great way to start the meal. They had so much flavor in such a small bite. Then the sashimi and sushi was fantastic and extremely fresh. Couldn’t believe it wasn’t the main course. But the highlight was the dessert. The Black sesame crème brulee was divine. Our entire party just couldn’t believe how unique and good this dish was. Shoutout to the chefs, each dish was a banger. Even just for the food, Honjo is worth it.

SERVICE - My party had some friends visiting from out of town and we wanted to bring them to a place which served good food, but even better service. From the start, Honjo’s staff were just so friendly and accommodating. From helping us store our travel bags (because some of us just came from the airport) to helping us to our table. Gabriel, the front of the house was just so warm and made us feel at home with his charm and friendliness. Mamata, our server was the best. From explaining the food items and attending to our needs, she made sure our experience was something to remember. But the best part came at the end of the night where they surprised us with pictures of our party to remember the night by. Our friends from out of town LOVED the experience, and so did we.

ATMOSPHERE - Honjo’s interior is just beautiful and the vibe is a really laid back, but classy establishment. It’s a perfect place to just reconnect with friends and have an experience. From the front of the house which has a separate bar, to the back which houses its main restaurant, the design and flow of the place is just beautiful. At the center of the restaurant are two communal tables (which my party and i ate in) and it was a good experience. I’ll definitely try and book one of the booths for next time.

Overall, definitely 5/5 experience. Still one of the best restaurants in Hong Kong. Thank you to Mamata, Gabriele and the rest of the Honjo team for an...

Entering Honjo is like walking into a wonderland. Next to TMK, the entrance to Honjo appeared to be small. After taking a lift to first floor, you will walk into a massive restaurant which radiates a nice scent with a nice interior design.

The Restaurant Week deal is quite nice, for HKD$398, you get to enjoy all these Japanese dishes. The dinner was kicked start with five small dishes.

The steamed edamame was seasoned with sea salt. Ordinary yet enjoyable.

I love these boneless chicken wings so much! Seasoned with Okinawa black sugar, garlic and fresh chili, they were really enjoyable. Not your ordinary Japanese fried chicken.

The hamachi was really fresh, topped up with ikura (salmon roes), watermelon radish and ginger ponzu, it’s a really refreshing dish.

The texture of these wagyu pieces were interesting because of the crispy quinoa, giving them a rather crunchy sensation. Seasoned with chorizo oil, asahi tosazu and chives, the wagyu pieces had splendid flavors.

Among the five small dishes, I like these salmon tapioca puff most. Wrapped inside this crunchy rice puff were salmon, rice, yuzu-koshu and purple shiso. So enjoyable and delicious indeed!

The Sushi & Sashimi Platter were a bit ordinary, yet fresh and yummy. Just not as surprising as the salmon tapioca puff.

There were two mains. First one was this Cauliflower with black truffle, passion fruit butter sauce, capers, and almond pieces. The superb dressing made the cauliflower a grand dish. Yum yum!

The other main was this Australian BMS 3 Wagyu Striploin with Asian chimmichurri. The striploin was nicely grilled. But what topped up the whole dish was definitely the seasoning powder on the side.

My friend and I ordered one each of the dessert to share, so that we got to try both. The Yuzu & Umeboshi Curd was a bit ordinary. We adored the Matcha Lava more, especially the aromatic soba cracker on top. The matcha lava also made great ice cream dressing.

Worth visiting Honjo for a nice weekend dinner...

Title: A Memorable Dining Experience at Honjo

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5 out of 5 stars)

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Honjo, and I must say it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. As soon as I stepped into the restaurant, I was captivated by the stunning decoration and the inviting ambience. Honjo truly sets the stage for a memorable dining experience.

My companions and I decided to indulge in the restaurant week menu, which offered a delightful selection of recommended and classic dishes. It was the perfect opportunity to savor the diverse flavors that Honjo had to offer. However, there was one dish that stood out above the rest—the fried corns. The combination of crispy corn kernels and exquisite seasoning created a harmonious blend of flavors that left us craving for more. It was truly a culinary masterpiece.

I would also like to extend a special shout-out to the manager, Jason, who provided us with impeccable service throughout the evening. His warm and attentive demeanor made us feel right at home, and he went above and beyond to ensure that our dining experience was nothing short of extraordinary. I'd like to express my gratitude for his professionalism and dedication.

Moreover, we had the pleasure of celebrating a special occasion during our visit, and Honjo proved to be the perfect venue for such an event. The ambiance, coupled with the exceptional food and service, created an atmosphere of joy and celebration that made the evening truly memorable for my friend.

In conclusion, our visit to Honjo was nothing short of remarkable. The combination of delectable dishes, beautiful decor, and outstanding service made for an unforgettable dining experience. I am already looking forward to returning to Honjo in the near future to explore more of their culinary offerings. If you're seeking a restaurant that excels in every aspect, Honjo is the place to be.
