Dishes outlook could be worked on but i’m here for the TASTE baby. Ingredients was so fresh and clean tasting, the all the vegetables were so crunchy, and seasoned to perfection (I never thought i could enjoy lotus root more than I already do). Every plate were packed full of flavour that doesn’t leave you sluggish but instead wanting more. The crunchy exterior of the sweet and sour pork was coating with the perfect amount of sauce, with non-soggy peppers and pineapple, the crabmeat soup was very palatable, and their sweet fig fried fish. OH their sweet fig fried fish. It was beautiful. We were pleasantly surprised upon first taste, as we had not expected it to lean towards the sweeter side, but it was a unique flavoursome experience. The beautifully fried fish was laying in a pond of delectable rich broth, with hints of fig flavour (that make the broth have a slightly banana-ish aftertaste) prancing with the aromatic lemongrass and gingery notes, needless to say it was a flavour combination I would never expect worked so well. It had small black ear fungus mushrooms which was the perfect vehicle for the broth, having the natural cupped shaped it had. (the yellow chunks were ginger-i thought it was potato) Though the first taste took us off guard, it quickly became one of the most eccentric and memorable dishes i have tried. We tried their 豆腐花 topped with fruit for dessert, the fruit were fresh, coupled with their pudding, which was so light, and yet left a potent soy flavour at the end,...

My recent visit to Jasmine was a disappointing experience. Despite ordering five dim sum dishes, only two arrived after an 80-minute wait. The delay was so prolonged that my mum had to leave before the food even reached our table.
When I informed the staff about the excessive wait and requested to take away the dishes that were not delivered, their response was apathetic. Instead of addressing the issue promptly, they suggested I wait for the remaining dishes and then ask for takeaway boxes.
After enduring twenty munutes more, I reached my limit and inquired about canceling the order if the food was not imminent. Suddenly, the staff sprang into action, informing me that one of the dim sum dishes was sold out, a detail that was not communicated earlier. Consequently, I was left waiting for the remaining two dishes.
To add to the frustration, upon settling the bill, I noticed that I had been charged for the sold-out dish. It took extra effort to rectify the error, requiring me to negotiate and pay the revised bill. While I empathize with the restaurant's apparent understaffing and high demand, the service quality and customer experience were severely lacking.
As a regular patron of Jasmine, this visit was particularly disheartening. I urge the restaurant management to consider hiring more staff to improve service efficiency and overall customer satisfaction. Regrettably, based on this experience, I will not be returning to Jasmine...
Read moreEDIT #1: Unfortunately, I am downgrading my review of this restaurant from 4* to 2*. In my last visit we ordered pork rib congee. It arrived at the table barely warm. When we asked them for a new one or at least a reheat it came back so quickly and it was just warm.
Jasmine is supposed to be a top tier Maxim restaurant, cold food should not be delivered to tables, when we mentioned this to the person who handled billing at the end he simply rolled his eyes skyward saying nothing in response.
Be aware this location is now terribly understaffed it seems, they have a robot that delivers the food into the middle of the first level and your food can sit there for a while getting cold before someone eventually brings it to your table.
ORIGINAL REVIEW:
Jasmine is owned and run by the Maxim's group I believe. I have been here often due to the high standard of cleanliness with the restaurant environment. Service is decent and you can find all your usual favourites for yum cha. It's easy to end up ordering and eating too much as everything is tasty. Dinner dishes are varied and currently there are some strange items on the menu which aren't too bad. I prefer the more traditional Cantonese dishes for that old school taste. Ultimately I would recommend Jasmine for anyone looking for a Cantonese Chinese meal in a nice...
