Horrible experience due to the following issues:
Misleading advertisements/promotions
We were a group of two and we walked past the entrance of the restaurant and was convinced by the promoting staff at the entrance that they were going to give us a free dish if we order a set of any number of dishes.
It turned out they meant a free “veges dish”. It was misleading and disappointing but never mind, as it turned out the veges dish was the best out of the three we ordered.
Horrible seafood and very non-fresh
We ordered steamed razor clams with garlic (蒜蓉蒸聖子)alongside deep fried salt and pepper squid (椒鹽鮮魷).
As you can see in the photo, they were no razor clams that you would normally see in a Hong Kong seafood restaurant, which are usually long and rectangular, yet these ones served in the photos are slight oval in shape and they taste nothing resembled the usual razor clams we have. It was jelly-like in texture though you were expecting the usual chewiness in your mouth. Absolutely disgusting! Needless to mention all the sand got mixed in your mouth and gave you the crunchiness with each chew.
Regarding the squid, I could only simply put it as moist and non-fresh, when it was suppose to be crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside. Again it wasn’t the usual chewiness when you bit on it as if they left in the freezer for a whole decade. It felt damp in the mouth because it wasn’t far from the texture of fries you left overnight and had to microwave it the next day for lunch.
Misleading pricing
Before walking in and upon placing orders, we confirmed with the waitress twice if the price for two dishes (plus one complementary dish that turned out to be veges) were going to be $188 as advertised on their promotional board. It was written as $188 on the bill clipper as well. However, when I took the bill to the cashier, I was told that there was a service charge today and it would be $200 in total, then followed by the cashier writing $200 below the $188 on the bill board clipper. At no point, neither verbally nor written on the menu, we were informed of service charge.
I was in shock and I felt very deceived by the “deal” that they promoted, yet we pay $200 for some horrible, inedible food. One can only wish they had fully cooked the seafood and wouldn’t suffer from any tummy issues tonight.
Never would I ever come back to this restaurant. Tbh I wouldn’t even recommend it to my...
Read moreWe were at Cheung Chau early yesterday. Our sked was just right and decided to have early lunch to avoid crowds. We were the first customers yesterday. Yey right?
Unfortunately, it took AT LEAST ONE HOUR to serve the steam fish we ordered! And this is what they served? So sad looking. Looks even done in a rush!
I wanted to cancel the order actually while waiting. Time's being wasted. We had a sked to follow. We could've done more things instead of waiting. Also my son was already getting impatient (he has special needs by the way). It was also annoying seeing other customers being served their meals already or others leaving because they're done. But my husband being the kind one, gave in to the staff's plea to wait more as the fish was almost done.
So yeah, not going back to this restaurant again. We lost an hour because of them. 👎 Don't want to risk getting our sked ruined again next time.
This couldve been a 1-star rating but I'm giving them 2 because to be fair, food was okay and they gave CNY...
Read moreThey told me that it’s $168 for 2 dish so I got a step inside this place But when I order, they just write down the single dish price, didn’t ask me for a set or anything. I found a board menu outside the restaurant have the 168 set after I ordered, I also found that all the dish that I have ordered, it can also be found on the 168 set. I felt that they were dishonest. Also the fried fresh squid, they mixed the fresh squid and the dried squid which is hard to chew. Other are fine but I was not in a good mood to enjoying the dinner. If you wanna go there, just got an eye on the price or make sure you are...
