Be is undoubtedly become one of my favorite dining spots in the city, and for good reason. This small yet charming restaurant offers a truly delightful culinary experience that showcases the best of locally sourced produce.
One of the standout features is their commitment to using fresh, locally grown produce directly from farms. It's refreshing to see a restaurant that prioritizes supporting local agriculture while ensuring the utmost quality in their dishes. Every bite feels like a celebration of the region's rich and vibrant flavors.
What makes it even more special is their limited sets each day. By keeping it carefully curated, they are able to focus on delivering remarkable and memorable seasonal vegetables that are bursting with flavours.
From the perfectly seared eggplant to the succulent corn, every element on the plate was expertly prepared and harmoniously. It's evident that the chef possess a deep understanding and appreciation for vegetables artistry.
Considering the high quality of the food, it is truly a gem. If you're looking for a unique and unforgettable dining experience, look no further. I don’t mean to be corny. With their focus on using local produce, limited daily sets, and a dedication to culinary excellence, this restaurant has undoubtedly captured the beet...
Read moreMy partner and I have heard many great things about this place from overseas. We are very admirable of the owners in the way they decided to open up a vegetarian place in Hong Kong with such a progressive concept.
Overall the food was very impressive. We ordered the spaghetti and the burger set. Both dishes were very appealing and came in a massive portion. We aren't vegetarians yet felt everything tasted excellent and had none of the traits that some less sophisticated vegetarian restaurants have (lots of heavy bean tastes, many menu items are deep fried etc.) The spaghetti had various flavors and didn't feel one dimensional like plain tomato sauce with chopped veggies. The sauce was on the sweeter side like local HK style.
A great area of improvement could be the service. We went during dinner period, being not too busy at the time we went and found that many of the staff had an overly laid back service. There were a few incidents where we weren't able to get the staff's attention because they were chitchatting and hanging out at the bar/counter area. Nobody really looked around to check up on the tables even though we were trying to wave them over. Interactions with staff felt transactional - not rude but also...
Read moreA vegan restaurant located in the Hung Hom area. The restaurant itself boasted pretty spacious seating, which is a rarity in Hong Kong. We came as a group and the general consensus was, the food tasted great. While the menu isn't too varied in what they offer, the execution of the dishes were quite spot on. The vegan pork katsu was bursting with flavor, as was the jajangmyeon. The vegan taiwanese fried chicken pieces were delectable as well. I would say the only let down was the sauce for the fried lion's mane mushroom. The mushrooms themselves were fried well, but the sauce was a bit lacking and had a bit too much of a vinegary punch to it. Overall a great experience, but be warned it's not the cheapest of...
