Went on a weekend. They didn't let anyone in until almost 15 minutes past their opening time. Dishes started to run out about 20 minutes after that. Many were never refilled. Limited dishes had huge crowds lining up. They gave 1 pair of scissors (for crabs) for the entire table to share. They sat parties of 3 at tables obviously designed for people. The surrounding diners were extremely noisy. The presentation of quite a few dishes was unappetizing (see photo of disgusting looking plate of cheese below). Some of the items like soups must be handed out by chefs, so be ready for the classical grumpy China HKer service. Everything was as expected for a Chinese owned hotel group (?). See photos, taken around 40 minutes into the meal.

I recently had the opportunity to try the dinner buffet at Cafe Kool, but unfortunately, my experience was not very pleasant. The restaurant was very crowded and noisy, making it difficult to enjoy the meal. Additionally, I was disappointed with the limited variety of food available, which left me feeling unsatisfied. In terms of the quality of the food, it was only average, and nothing really stood out as particularly delicious or memorable. Overall, I was left feeling underwhelmed by the experience. While I appreciate the effort that the restaurant put into offering a buffet-style dinner, I would not recommend Cafe Kool to anyone looking for a high-quality dining experience.

Cafe Kool is one of my favorite and best buffet dining places in Hong Kong for over two decades. Their buffet menu is truly a delicacy! They are very generous with the quality of the ingredients, the portion and chefs are extremely courteous and take the time to explain the menu and answer questions. Their wide selection of menu is truly one of a kind and gives local or international diners an unforgettable and fulfilling dining experience. My favorite are their fresh oysters, herbal soup and wantons. Great place to bring a large group or your entire family to celebrate a special occasion. From the host to the servers, everyone there are super nice and accommodating!

Café Kool is an upscale buffet restaurant located in Kowloon Shangri-La Hotel. This buffet offers guests a grand selection of International cuisines, from Western to Indian dishes. As soon as you enter the hotel, you will see a beautiful and spacious lobby with live entertainment for hotel guests. The buffet is located on the mezzanine level which overlooks the lobby through a glass window. Inside the buffet are six large kitchen stations offering an abundance of fresh dishes ready to be served.

We dined at Café Kool with our friends who came down from Shenzhen to visit us in Hong Kong. We couldn't have chosen a better place to catch up over a delicious meal. One of the stations which had gotten us all excited was the seafood station. They had the freshest lobster and crab legs, along with the beautiful assortment of sushi that was prepared. We made sure not to fill up on one particular cuisine so that we had the chance to try a little bit of everything from all the six stations. One of the chefs came out to greet me and was kind enough to show me around to the different stations and explain what some of the dishes were. He even suggested several dishes for me to try including coconut chicken soup and beef rib, which were both very delicious.

The dessert station was also plentiful with a great assortment of cakes, pastries, fruits and more. They had two beautiful fondue stands serving milk and white chocolate, along with some dessert on skewers to dip with. Their ice cream selection included many different flavours and they were all made from Haagen-Dazs. We enjoyed our dessert with a nice cup of hot brewed coffee.

By the end of our meal, we were all full and very satisfied. We had a pleasurable experience at Café Kool from the lovely food to the great service. Although the price per person is quite expensive, I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a buffet restaurant offering great quality and a wide selection of different...

We utilized the Eatigo app and booked 2 reservations for the lunch buffet with a discount. We were 6 min early for our reservation and the very rude hostess told us to wait. She said we can sit down but we can’t eat. At our reservation time, the waiter came by and told us we can eat. We felt like we were in kindergarten been told when we can eat and when we can’t. The food was OK but the service was dismal. Piles of dishes that were never picked up. Empty dim sum baskets with no dim sum in them. We have been to the Shangri-La in Vancouver and in Makati and have never been treated so poorly. Additionally an incident occurred while we were eating, a man went to the rest room and his half eaten food was cleared (because the lunch buffet was closing), he started yelling st the waiter and none of the management staff intervened. The man carried on for 15-20 min. The waiter apologized but the managers did not play a part in calming the angry customer down. We left our lunch quickly because the whole scene was so unpleasant at this particular restaurant. They need better staff training that’s for sure. From the hostess, management to the wait staff. They don’t know how to treat customers. They are just tarnishing the...

Stayed at the hotel and we decided on buffet so that we can just try a little of each type of the food. So very disappointed. Still having a headache now. It was so NOISY, worse than the coffeeshop. Can't believe this is is 5 star hotel, I never face anything like this before in Hong Kong nor anywhere else. How can the hotel tolerate such rowdiness. I took the lobster and was shocked it stinks! Could not eat that and spoilt my appetite. The crab leg is salty and not fresh too. Luckily there was wrapped roasted duck. Took some salmon sashimi which is average. The prawns tempura was bad but brinjal ok. Dessert a failure. Hubby just took some Malay and Indian rice. My experience with the hotel was so awesome as you can see from posts. Can't believe this should spoil my last night here. The juice are not even fresh juice but sweetened drinks. Thank God they could give us hot chocolate. Unbelievable. The stay in the hotel has been excellent. The hotel room, amenities and service has been top notch and excellent. I have never given 1 star review before. This is...
