Cafe Deco Pizzeria — Restaurant in Kowloon

As former regulars, we will never return to Cafe Deco Pizzeria after today's incident. The food was unfresh and inedible, and the service was extremely horrible. The whole ordeal was unethical business practice! From the food to the service, it was a deciteful act. They pretend to care with false promises but never follow through.

The restaurant used to be good or okay with moderate standards. However, we are severely disappointed today. Firstly, their food is not fresh: the meat is stinky and inedible, the pizza had frozen corn and canned pineapple with little to no cheese, and the fried chicken was overfried and tough (seemingly leftovers that were refried). The dessert was even below Sam's Club or 7-Eleven level. We barely ate much of our meal as we could not swallow half of our food.

Of course, we complained about our meal by requesting a refund. In response, the servers took away our food with promises to inform the manager, but no one ever showed up. Instead, a waitress claimed to be the manager and offered us compensation in the form of vanilla gelato. Yet, they instead gave us a sorbet that wouldn't pass muster even at a fast-food joint. Despite being hungry, we only took a few bites of the "gelato" and asked for the bill immediately, being fed up with everything.

Shockingly, bad food is just the tip of the iceberg. Remember the waitress who took away our food to inform their "manager"? Well, it was just a tactic of theirs to hide away the evidence to prevent us from complaining. Shockingly, once we received the bill, the waitress charged us extra with the free "gelato" and accused us of finishing all of our food so we shouldn't complain. Instead, they said that we should have complained earlier before we finished our meal. Yet, they are the ones who took away our food/evidence, which we barely ate!

Serving unedible food is one thing, but engaging in deceitful practices and gaslighting customers is entirely unacceptable. This entire experience has tarnished our perception of Cafe Deco Pizzeria. I have my fair share of bad food experiences, but the staff in this restaurant has no conscious with no regards in tricking customers! This is the worst dining experince that I ever had in my whole life. We sincerely hope no one else has to endure the same embarrassing ordeal that...

I had a birthday lunch with a friend on 3 August around 12:15pm. I informed the assistant manager Mark that I have a serious tree nut allergy, and I asked him to make sure that none of the dishes would have any tree nuts.

After that, my friend told another staff Uma that the tuna in her salad was missing. Uma then told us the kitchen team thought we said “no tuna”. Then I told both Uma and Mark that, “no, we said no tree nuts instead of no tuna. I have a serious tree nut allergy”

Uma apologized to us and asked the kitchen team to replace the salad. Mark told us there's no nuts in our dishes. So we started eating.

While my friend was eating her own salad, I started feeling ill, and I found walnuts in my salad.

My friend helped me to inform Mark as I could barely speak because of tongue numbness. Mark said he did put the notes in the ticket, but when my friend asked him to show us the ticket, he didn’t. Mark did not know what to do, and I do not know if he understood how serious it was.

This could actually kill me. We informed your staff twice that I have a serious tree nut allergy, and I showed Keith (another assistant manager) my medical report.

Uma was the only staff member who showed us she actually cared about this.
