Chung Kee Dessert (Jordan) — Restaurant in Kowloon

Quite good to find another dessert place that is not so traditional with the sweet soups and red beans. Ordered the tri-coloured grass jelly, a mix of clear, white and black, the clear ones are basically agar jelly, and the white ones have a slight almond banana taste, and the black or the original ones. I left the black ones, because there was a slight sour taste in it.

Lemon water chestnut: never tried water chestnut with bits of egg, but this time gave it a try with lemon, all because of lemon, I was surprised it wasnt nastily sweet. The water chestnuts were there, giving it a crunchy note, however it could be improved because they can be peeled better instead of leaving the brown skin on it. The lemon was not really strong, only the bitter rind taste, I think if real lemon juice was extracted and mixed it with it would taste more lemoney.

Famous dessert spot in Jordan with a row of people waiting to get in on a Sunday evening. The place serves mostly traditional Chinese dessert but also some Western options. We ordered a warm sesame pudding with peanut filled rice balls. It was a rich black colour and thankfully without a strong sesame flavour. It made a perfect dish for a cold winter night. We also ordered a chocolate lava pudding with a scoop of mango and green tea ice cream. The lava pudding was freshly baked and was oozing with chocolate sauce. Their desserts there never fails to put a smile on your face but the staff there can be quite rude! Make sure you know what you want when you order and don’t ask anymore questions or make any changes after ordering coz they won’t be happy and will give you an attitude. Also after your done with your desserts, please make your way out of the shop as they have limited seats as it’s not very big. I went there after 12am so there wasn’t a queue and there seat available. Maybe next time when I am there I would order...
