This place has been featured on many YouTube shows, so there was already a long queue before I arrived. I ordered a bowl of fish ball and fish cake hor fun (flat rice noodles) and a bowl of fish skin dumpling hor fun. I initially wanted to get extra fried fish skin, but they were already sold out. That was quite surprising.

The soup in the bowl of hor fun had a clean and sweet fish broth taste. I believe they didn't add any MSG to the soup. The hor fun noodles were smooth and there was a generous portion, enough to satisfy my hunger. However, maybe because I'm used to the stronger flavors of fish ball noodles with added MSG, I found the soup a bit lacking in depth when consumed on its own. Even the noodles seemed to lack some flavor. To enhance the taste, I decided to try their chili oil. Let me tell you, this chili oil was outstanding! It had an incredibly fragrant aroma of chili and was authentically spicy. Just a little bit of it was enough to make the dish fiery and exciting. The fish balls and fish cakes were tender, but still retained a good fish flavor. Perhaps the other fish ball I've had in the past had some chemical additives that made them bouncier.

Now, onto the fish skin dumplings. They were absolutely delicious! The dumpling skin had a nice chewiness, and the filling was rich with the taste of sesame oil. However, I was a bit disappointed that the bowl only came with four dumplings for HK$42. It felt a little stingy on the portion. I noticed that many people bought the raw fish skin dumplings or fish balls to cook at home for hot pot. I'll definitely try...

Plan on coming here before 6pm if you wanted to try their fish cake 魚片. I arrived after 9:20pm and was only able to order their 3 combo rice noodle 三寶河 instead of the 4 combo 四寶. There was no line but be prepared to line up during regular dinner time. Their last order was around 9:45pm and they would send customers away after that. I learned that they use 2 different broths, so this review was only ascertained to my 3 combo noodles at the end of a typical Friday:

The broth was good but plain according to my liking. I recommend trying a little bit of the sauces either on your spoon or on a condiment dish before adding to the broth as it was very delicate. I liked mine with only a little fish sauce. I then added some chili oil half way through and ruined my broth! The rice noodles were slightly overdone. In terms of toppings, you get 2 pieces of fish balls, fish dumplings, squid balls, seaweed, and some veggies/aromatics. I actually liked the squid balls the most and do consider it a must try here. The seaweed was amazing too. The fish dumplings had a supreme chewy texture. The fish balls were soft and tasted just okay. Overall, even though I was not able to try their signature fish cakes, I enjoyed my one time experience here and will explore other...

Fish paradise!

Visited for lunch after a medical appointment nearby and tried their signature “3 types” combo with seaweed.

The fishball, squid balls and “fish skin” dumplings (?) are all very flavourful, which makes the soup and rice noodle relatively plain.

Place can get busy but the turnover is relatively quick so don’t be too concerned. I would recommend going for the “4 types” combo to get a taste of everything if you are...
