Golden Phoenix Restaurant — Local services in Hong Kong

I visited this restaurant for afternoon tea for the first time and had a very disappointing experience. I placed my order around 3:30pm, but by almost 5:00pm my baked pork chop rice still hadn’t been served. Several items I wanted to order (steak set, fish fillet set, fried beef ho fun, curry beef brisket rice, red bean curd chicken wings) were all unavailable!!!The lack of food choices and slow service left me quite frustrated. This is one of those restaurants that do not target tourists, but the food and ambience is excellent. There are no menus in English, and most of the staff does not speak English well, but you will enjoy the various meat dishes, which are quite big, by the way. Actually, there was one waitress who spoke decent English and she was very nice.

The place looks popular with the locals, so you may need to wait to be seated. Other than that, the service is fast.

Poor service. Waiting staffs are forgetful. The steak took 45mins to serve after numerous times of checking but no feedback for 4 times. Then 5th time, was told it’s coming. After the main, we placed order for the ice cream, the waitress said ok, and went out of the shop to make phone call. Then when she returned, she forgotten about it, till I remind her 5mins later.
