My cousin and I visited Coffee Slave for a Saturday brunch, as it is located in Ngau Tau Kok/Kwun Tong, which is close to where we live.
You will be welcomed by lots of toys like these when you walked into Coffee Slave. Also, they brought back memories that I had been here before, but just for a cup of Beetroot Latte, not a full meal.
I ordered this special Wine Tonic to cool off the summer heat, as Coffee Slave is a bit far from MTR station. It had a nice blend of red wine and coffee taste, surprisingly matching! And even the ices melted, the drink wasn’t diluted to a great extend. Highly recommend you to try it.
We ordered two dishes to share. First one was these pancakes. We ordered the one with Matcha Gelato, Red Bean Paste, Sweet Cream & Maple Syrup. We were a bit confused if this was the one we ordered, as the cup of ice cream was Tieguanyin tea flavour instead of matcha, even though there were red beans inside. We thought the premium upgrade meant an extra scoop of Tieguanyin ice cream, instead of replacing the matcha one with this one. Nevertheless, the pancakes were reasonable, and the Tieguanyin ice cream didn’t go quite well with the pancakes, as we were expecting matcha with red beans…
The other main was this Shakshuka with Toast Sticks. We ordered this as we don’t often see it on a cafe menu. The tomato base (onion, tomato, red bell pepper, herbs, spice) with eggs and mozzarella cheese was absolutely delicious! The crunchy based toast sticks were so good too! Perfect for dipping the tomato base. However, the waitress carelessly dropped one of the tasty bread sticks. She said she would bring one back to us but she never did…We wouldn’t want it back so desperately if it wasn’t this delicious…A bit...
Read moreHave you ever been to a place that you had your breakfast and coffee, sat there to work on your laptop and when it was lunch time you went to order your lunch again, they asked you, repeatedly asked you to leave the place, go outside, line up again to come in for lunch? Coffee Slave is the place.
SHOCKING?
The owner said this was their policy and when she explained this to her waitresses, she left them speechless, one of the waitresses said sorry to me privately and told me that there was nothing she could do for me as the one that made that order was her boss. All of my families and friends have never ever heard such thing in their entire lives. My lawyer friends ask me to take legal actions towards this outrageous behaviour.
Don’t worry, I made sure there was no misunderstanding nor any argument when I was there. And that is why this is beyond anyone’s understanding. I specifically went to order my lunch because I was kind enough to think that I did not want to take up the seats when I finished my breakfast. But who would have thought of this happening?
I am simply writing what truly happened down because NOBODY DESERVES THIS. AND THEY NEED TO KNOW THAT. So wanna try this place when they don’t treat you with ...
Read moreThis is a cafe and coffee shop situated along Hung To Road in the heart of the industrial area in Kwun Tong. Opening hours are 8am to 6pm (weekdays) and 10am to 6pm (Sat), closed on Sundays. They have a fairly large indoor seating area and offer up an all day menu of reasonably priced cafe style dishes along with an expected range of coffee and non-coffee drinks.
I recently had lunch at Coffee Slave and found everything to be quite fair. Service was friendly and timely, seating environs what you expect of a restaurant busy with local office workers and fairly typical lunch set options. On the occasion, I had the spaghetti with clams, served with a cup of soup. Everything tasted as expected. I also had a good espresso afterwards, bold, medium bodied, fairly strong flavours, a nice finish to a pretty good lunch. Based on this experience, I'd gladly have lunch here again if in the area and...
