Sow Vegan is a hidden gem that I would highly recommend. The owner, who is trained in Le Cordon Bleu, brings her culinary expertise to create an exceptional dining experience. Her previous cooking show on Jade 2 adds an extra level of credibility.
The 8-course menu at Sow Vegan is an absolute delight, with each dish leaving a lasting impression. The bread selection, including the sourdough and vegan brioche, was simply outstanding. The addition of the unique plant-based Sichuan pepper corn butter elevated the flavors. I particularly loved the breadstick with fermented tofu, which was a pleasant surprise.
One of the standout dishes for me was the shoyu enoki tart and "anchovy" kimbap cracker. The combination of flavors and textures was truly remarkable. However, a few people at our table found the slow-cooked cabbage with pistachio sauce to be slightly too sweet and unbalanced. Personally, I still enjoyed it, but it might not be to everyone's taste.
The desserts at Sow Vegan were also a highlight. The red pitaya, pandan Basque cheesecake, and apricot meringue were all exceptional. However, my absolute favorite was the earl grey apple canele and lychee mochi. The flavors were unique and perfectly executed.
I must also mention the grapefruit refresher, which was a refreshing and tangy palate cleanser that added a burst of flavor to the meal.
Overall, Sow Vegan is a true culinary gem that offers an incredibly diverse and creative menu. The exceptional bread selection, unique flavors, and outstanding desserts make it a must-visit for any...
Read moreI’d heard about this local vegan spot years ago but never had the chance to try it — until tonight. And wow, the food seriously surprised me (in the best way).
All the ingredients are sourced locally, and you can really taste the difference — everything was incredibly fresh! Each dish was beautifully presented with care, and the flavours were thoughtfully blended. As someone who usually eats meat, I found every bite absolutely delicious.
The standout dish for me was the mushroom served with rose kombucha and rice. I honestly don’t know what kind of magic they put in it, but it was so good — rich, balanced, and totally satisfying.
The space itself is warm and inviting, almost like dining in someone’s cosy living room. The service was friendly and welcoming. Perfect spot to celebrate my husband’s birthday!
I can’t wait to come back and try more of their seasonal menus. Whether you're vegetarian or not, I’d highly recommend this spot —...
Read moreI came here with high expectations due to the great reviews, and was really excited since a vegan tasting menu restaurant is unique for HK. Overall I didn’t dislike it, but don’t think I would come again. The food was good and well-presented, and I like that the menu is seasonal, but no dish really wowed. I did like the desserts a lot and thought they were better than the savoury courses - they weren’t too sweet and were very inventive. The biggest let-down for me was the service, which I felt was a little unfriendly, slow and cold. This could be a matter of personal taste but I expected a small restaurant with this type of concept to have more attentive and...
