Food Republic — Restaurant in Kowloon

Food Republic may be known for its diverse variety of outlets to purchase from (Taiwanese, Singaporean, Japanese, Korean) but the food quality is not always consistently good. I ordered Taiwanese noodle soup and it had excessive salt dumped into it. Hard to digest as well and full of MSG. The price may not be worth it. I also had dishes from other stalls, including XO sauce seafood rice, Japanese style omulette rice, bibimbap, and sakura beef rice on a sizzling plate from that was okay, but still, the portions are quite small and not worth the price averaging about $45-50 per person (but can go well above $100 in the case of...

Very heavy and very unhealthy 😂 prob used a lot of msg since i felt so thirsty and had to keep drinking water afterwards. Meat quality is not the best, but because of the heavy seasoning, it’s still tasteful.

Anyways, I think it’s up to food court restaurant standards. Just don’t have too high of an expectation. (JOA is definitely better and around the same price!!! )

Overall speaking, it is a nice place to have your lunch. There are many choices, but do not try "台灣美食", never. The food is just OK. The service is extremely poor.
