Bookmarked this Chiu Chow resto for a long time, and finally had the chance to visit with my colleagues for dinner. . We ordered the following dishes to share: -Chinese Chives with Pig Blood Curd The generously portioned blood curd was substantial without any unpleasant odour. It had an elastic texture and rich savoury.

-Wasabi Sliced Cuttlefish with Ice The cool and chewy cuttlefish, each piece evenly sliced, sat atop a layer of sesame oil. The umami taste of the cuttlefish was enhanced by the wasabi.

-Famous Marinated Goose The nicely-marinated goose was accompanied by flavourful tofu at the base, esp after absorbing the marinade sauce.

-Pan-fried Oyster Pancake The pancake was crispy and the oysters were incredibly fresh, which melted in ur mouth with each bite.

-Stir-fried Water Spinach with Belecan in Stone Pot The fragrant water spinach, slightly salty from the belecan shrimp paste, displayed a great wok hei.

-Deep-fried Chinese Noodlefish with Spiced Salt The noodlesfish had a crunchy exterior and a soft interior. It was truly succulent and served piping hot.

-Chiu Chow Thin Clams This dish was not particularly memorable. . The resto offered a diverse selection of dishes, providing a Chiu Chow style dining experience. With two floors, it could accomodate a good number of customers. The floor was a bit...

We walked in on a weekday evening with no reservation and were seated upstairs on the balcony area equipped with air-conditioning.

Ordering was self-help using QR code. Unfortunately both the Oyster Pancake and the well-cut marinated goose was sold out already. We had no choice but to order the regular cut of marinated goose─which was less desired because half of it were bones and the meat quality was not as good.

The fried clams were just mediocre; yet the fried tofu was surprisingly good and well seasoned.

Overall the place was packed with people from group gatherings and was quite loud throughout the night. Staff had high efficiency and polite in general.

I felt puzzled at the end of the meal because I saw another table was having the Oyster Pancake which was supposedly sold out on the website. I did not quite understand why we entered first but we did not get...

Very famous and very old fashioned Chiu Chow food restaurant. The location is just 5 mins walk from MRT Yaumati station. Decoration inside the restaurant is in a horribly shabby state. Food were above average standard, and if u count the location and the low price they charged, plus the larger than usual food portion per dish, one would agreed this is not a bad deal. Business is good, be advised to book your table beforehand. From my personal experience, they use MSG and the overall experience is on the heavy, salty side. Not recommended to people who prefer light, vegetarian, healthy, whole food style. All in all, I'm a bit disappointed because of the long history the shop carried, and authentic Chiu Chow food is getting rare nowadays in...
