It is relocated from Sham Shui Po to Yau Ma Dei. The price is approximately the same but the portion and the quality seems a bit downgraded. It becomes more spacious and customers can self-serve water and pandan water. The crab tomato vermicelli doesn’t taste as flavorful as it used to be, though it is still good given that it is inexpensive. The tomato, crab cake, pork fillings are average. The grilled pork chilled vermicelli is fair and the citric dressing feels like soup. The pork is a bit dry after all. Baguette is much better with the grilled pork, pickled radish and carrot and coriander. It is nice but there isn’t any surprising features about it. The avocado smoothie is a signature of the restaurant, but I can feel that the avocado is pretty raw, so it is not overly creamy. Ordered a dessert, pandan cake. It is chewy and slightly sweet, perfect to end the meal. After all, it is an affordable restaurant for the white collars to enjoy a...
Read moreWent to this Vietnamese resto with my friends. . I ordered Pho with Grilled Pork in Clear Soup Broth. The grilled pork was quite greasy. You could see there was a plate of oil left when u finished the the pork. The noodle was smooth and the broth was clear.
One of my friends ordered Rice Vermicelli in Crab and Tomato Soup. It consisted of carb patties, tomato, VN sausage, pork blood, herbs, sprout, lettuce and rice vermicelli. The ingredients were generous.
Another friend got Glutinous Rice Rolls with Fresh Mango and Assorted Dessert Puddings. The rice rolls were mouthful with the huge mango, while the black glutinous pudding was so-so.
We shared the Pandan Pudding as well. The pandan flavour was rich and made the pudding smelled aromatic. With mung bean paste in the middle, it had a chewy texture. It didn't taste as impressive as we imagined though. . It was a really popular resto, so the queue...
Read moreI'm an all-time big fan of Vietnamese cuisine. There are many of them in town but thus far this the most value-for-money one. Started from a very small shop in Sham Shui Po where it was always super crowded, it built up their fame bit by bit and ended up a never ending queue outside the shop! They moved to Yau Ma Tei some time ago but food is still good. Their signature noodle with assorted Vietnamese food is still good, the roasted pork one is also nice. Big portion, reasonable price and adequately seasoned. I must stress their special drinks, they have pineapple, avocado and mango. Avocado one is special and not too sweet, but anyway I love the mango one. Very fresh and juicy. The staff there are also polite, not easy for a famous shop to remain humble and polite to...
