It has a very local flavour and you get to see locals resting there lying down on stone chairs and, men seated around a stone table to play Chinese chess with a crowd of bystanders watching the chess match. There are many Banyan trees in this park which could be more than 50 years old and is also nickname 'Banyan Tree Street' by the locals. Next to it is a very traditionally built Chinese Temple and is worth taking a look to enjoy the architecture. Have fun.

There is a traditional archway entrance, some nice banyan trees to create lots of shade, park benches and tables for elderly to play checkers and other board games. You can enter the front of the temple from the community garden as well.

It is quite a peaceful temple with ample chairs in the area and trees. Photos are not allowed inside and English explanations are available for goods or services provided. Public toilet is nearby and so are the many places selling food.

Situated bang in the middle of Temple Street night market, it's let down by poor lighting and by its predominant inhabitants being drawn from the neighbourhood's underclass of drug and gambling addicts.

Not dangerous but neither is it a place in which one feels...
