Although it is presented as a French restaurant, the atmosphere here is more casual than one might expect. On the evening of our visit, the dining room was bustling, with several guests who seemed unfamiliar with French cuisine and children running freely between the tables. While this gave the space a lively energy, it detracted somewhat from the refined experience one might anticipate from a French establishment.
The meal began on a high note. The caviar, lobster, and onion soup were all excellent—beautifully prepared, flavourful, and true to their French roots. Unfortunately, the main course, Beef Wellington, was disappointing. The chef had layered it with mushroom paste and foie gras to the point where the flavour of the beef itself was almost entirely lost. To make matters worse, the beef was overcooked and noticeably dry, which diminished the overall enjoyment of the dish.
On the other hand, the service was a standout. The staff were attentive throughout the evening, with Henry in particular leaving a strong impression. His knowledge of wine was outstanding, and his recommendations paired perfectly with the courses we enjoyed.
In summary, while the restaurant shines in certain appetisers and delivers exceptional service, the overall dining experience could be improved by greater attention to the execution of key dishes and a more consistent atmosphere that matches its French...
Read moreI had dinner at Le Salon de Thé de Joël Robuchon at Elements, and it was a beautifully designed space that strikes a balance between casual elegance and the refined DNA of the Joël Robuchon brand.
From the moment you walk in, you’re enveloped in a chic red-and-black palette, with marble textures and sleek lighting that give the space a sophisticated yet relaxed ambiance.
The dishes arrived with signature Robuchon finesse — visually stunning and thoughtfully composed. The escargot was aromatic and buttery, the burrata with tomato slices was fresh and well-seasoned, and the pasta with clams was light yet flavorful. The pan-seared fish was beautifully executed and plated with finesse.
However, the highlight I was most looking forward to — the lobster — fell short. While the presentation was enticing, the dish arrived too cold for what should have been a hot main. As someone who genuinely loves lobster, this was disappointing and detracted from an otherwise strong showing.
Service was polite, the wine list well-curated, and the open kitchen added an energetic vibe to the evening. Still, consistency in execution is crucial, especially at this level. I hope the team ensures dishes — especially premium items — are temperature-checked before service.
Overall, I’d rate this experience a solid 4 out of 5. A beautiful venue with promising dishes, and I’d return — just maybe skip the...
Read moreJoel Robuchon is a high end restaurant, boulangerie situated in Elements. We were holidaying in Hong Kong and decided to treat ourselves with some nice Christmas meal.
We were dressed very casually as we came on a Christmas day and wanted and to our pleasant surprise, we were not look down upon.
As soon as we walked in, we were greeted warmly by the front staff and soon after, seated very comfortably.
The restaurants choice of color really helps with our pleasant mood. Really love the interior.
The Manager, (a guy whom i couldn't remember the name) took care of us very well. He is extremely knowledgeable and recommended some nice dishes.
We ordered: French onion soup Tomato soup Caesar salad Penne with tomato sauce and basil Lobster risotto Spaghetti with clams and white wine sauce Iberico pork rib with charcutiere sauce Chocolate crepe for dessert
Wow! What an culinary adventure we had! Everything was done and cooked perfectly. Iberico pork is cooked with the right temperature, with the charcutiere sauce pairing, perfect.
My favourite is the lobster risotto which was expertly crafted. Really well done.
Although a bit expensive, but the experience is definitely worth it. I can't recommend this restaurant well enough. If I have a chance to go back to Hong Kong, I will definitely visit this restaurant again...
