Didn't take a second thought when I went into the restaurant. We wandered our way into the restaurant and the staff finally showed us to a table. We were provided with room temperature water when I very much preferred an ice cold glass of water on a very hot summer evening. We ordered a deep fried fish w/ fish sauce, stir fried ground pork (Phat kaphrao) and a stir fried noodles w/ vegetables. When I tell you the food was scrumptious, it was SO GOOD. The noodles came first and then the Phat Kaphrao. The stir-fried noodle dish was very generous; there was a lot of noodle and vegetables. The vegetables were fresh and crunchy all the while the noodles were flavorful and saucy. For those who like blander food, this dish is a bit on the salty side. The stir fried ground pork ($85 HKD) was super yummy. The serving size for this dish was also generous (I had to get a to-go box)! There was so much flavor going on, and the spice really kicked in on the second bite. If you're not one for spice, avoid the chilies at all cost lol! Then came the last dish, which was the deep fried fish ($188 HKD). This was definitely the MVP. The fish was SUPER crispy and the sauce complemented the fish so well! I couldn't stop eat this, even after I was past the point of being full. The sauce was tangy, sweet and sour. Each bite did not get tiring at all because the cook was, again, very generous with the chili--which cut through the grease very well. The workers there just mind their own business, but can speak English, Thai...
Read moreI've been to many Thai restaurants in Hong Kong. In general it's best to avoid the ones where it's only Chinese staff as you'll get the Chinese Thai style, which means bland with as little meat and veggies as possible. Kowloon city is famous for having the largest Thai population in HK. Therefore you will find a lot of great Thai places when there. Lemon Grass was great, very cheap, something around 40-60 for a meal and drink. It does taste like Thailand and not like the usual boring and sweet stuff you get to please the local populace. I got the fried pork Pho which had a good portion of meat and veggies not too spicy just the great balance. I recommend this place and the restaurant around as my experience has been similar before. Best Thai...
Read moreThere are plenty of good Thai food restaurants in Kowloon City. On my visit the food was good and prices fair. The services was slow and clumsy despite the place being only half full.
TWO beers on tap! But with a terrible issue: the draft beer was sour and the draft dispensing system dirty. (Clean the beer lines with biweekly; replace the kegs when the beer is stale. If the beer goes stale before the keg is emptied check the system for leaks and lower draft beer prices to stimulate...
