I ventured into Thai Vegetarian Food for the first time yesterday and found it to be a generally pleasing experience, with one minor hiccup.
The Veggie Prawn Cake and Veggie Fish were the stars of the evening. Surprisingly, they both tasted quite good, with flavors and textures that mimicked seafood in a pleasing way.
The Veggie Tom Yum Kung soup was also a delight, maintaining the traditional sour and spicy flavors of the classic dish.
The Avocado Pomelo Salad was refreshing, offering a balanced contrast between the creaminess of the avocado and the tartness of the pomelo. It was a lovely side dish that complemented the other flavors well.
However, the Pan-Fried Thai Basil Instant Noodle was a bit of a letdown. It didn't quite hit the mark for me, lacking a certain something that I usually look for in a noodle dish.
Overall, despite the disappointing noodles, my experience at Thai Vegetarian Food was generally positive. The restaurant's ability to create tasty vegetarian versions of traditional Thai dishes is commendable and I'm open to giving it another try...

Though I want to try everything on the menu, the Tom Yum soup is always my top choice. It's perfectly tangy and spicy, with plenty of ingredients. The mixed platter with fish cakes and shrimp cakes is delightful, but I personally prefer the fish cakes for their fragrant lemongrass flavor. Don't miss out on the delicious satay skewers; they are a must-try.
Keep in mind that this is a small establishment with limited tables, so it's best not to order too much food at once. Also, they accept cash...

Feel kind of bad, knowing I am a part of gentrification that will probably kill this place in the long run. Still, if you like Thai food and are a vegetarian, that's a great place. Intense, complex tastes, spices, aromas, textures intermixing in the great experience that the place provides. The experience is very simple (no beer), but the taste makes up for it. I kind of enjoyed the "authentic" atmosphere, but this is no place for an evening dinner with friends. Rather a fast bite, which becomes just so much...
