Weekend afternoon tea. Overall an excellent experience. Quite an impressive array for the price paid. Strange that it isn't busier - perhaps because Kerry Hotel is not in the main hotel district? Good for a relaxed afternoon tea gathering - which may not be the case for some hotels that get very hectic on weekend afternoons. Sometimes you can't remember every item, but because each had its distinct profile and character, we were able to remember each one. Impressively, every item was a hit for us. Caviar on blinis to start (very generous amount!). Then savoury items (foie gras kumquat, smoked salmon sandwich, tomato tart, crab tart) - all balanced well with freshness, acidity, richness, texture. Two scones (each!) - with lots of jam and clotted cream. Buttery and rich. Quite filling. Then sweet items: caramel peanut cake, raspberry chocolate firecracker, clementine tart, and a sort of strawberry trifle with sorbet. Choose one hot drink and this can be refilled throughout your time. Even though 6pm was the end time, we were able to continue chatting until 6.30pm. No sense of rush. The staff were generally helpful and proactive, especially Ms. May, who was exceptionally friendly and made us feel welcome. Usual price is HKD788 +10% but you may be able to get a discounted price via Klook voucher. We made a reservation in advance and requested a quieter table by the window. The staff were able to accommodate this request. Would definitely revisit - we've tried several hotel afternoon teas before and Kerry Hotel Lobby Lounge is...
Read morea bright and nice lobby lounge in kerry hotel, good to have an afternoon tea or some coffee chat with besties. i came here on christmas eve so there was a festive special afternoon tea set. the food was designed festive on appearance and using the matching ingredients. e.g. there was a red christmas bauble with cinnamon ginger bread and blood orange cream; a yule log chocolate cake with red berry jelly; feeling good! on the savouries, my best pick were the caviar lobster salad and the black truffle toast! and nonetheless, the scones and the jams - the classic clotted cream, and berry jam were the basic :P the orange marmalade and hazelnut were the surprise! overall it's satisfactory but a bit high in price comparing with other branded hotels, but understood that it's festive limited...
Read moreVery impressed with the afternoon tea! We went for the CNY set with caviar, and we enjoyed all the items. The presentation was beautiful - served in a box unlike the typical tiered tea set. Both sweet and savoury items were wonderful but my favourite would be the tomato pastry, crab and cheese pastry, scones and the strawberry parfait! They also gave a generous amount of caviar per set.
The lounge had a pretty nice view and it was not too noisy, if you get the seats near the window there's also not a lot of foot traffic. Staff were also very nice and accommodating. Highly recommend...
