They charged you michelin price and served you cha chaan teng quality food and services. We came here for birthday celebration, spent 1500 per head but felt like the entire meal was a waste of money and time.
We booked the table for 7:30pm, arrived on time but were not seated until 8pm. When we finally got in, we spent A LOT of time throughout the night waiting for our food to arrive. They kept forgetting the food we ordered, forgetting to provide the right tableware for the dishes. Even worst, they put “Happy Anniversary” on our card, but we came here for birthday celebration, the staff re-confirmed the occasion with me beforehand via whatsapp so I really didn’t expect they would made such mistake.
As to the food, we ordered the special occasion menu which includes the oyster and lobster soup for starters, Lobster and ribeye for main, and had asparagus and macaroni as side dish. The oysters were similar to those you can get at Oyster Station for 20hkd/piece. The lobster and lobster soup was okay, the ribeye was dry, chewy and flavourless (it was so bad to a point that we couldn’t finish eating half of it!!), the side dishes were cold when it was served.
This restaurant was recommended in a lot of articles when I was searching online for a birthday celebration restaurant. My advice to everyone, don’t believe those online articles and don’t bother to come here for any type of celebration if you don’t want to have your...
Read moreIncredible food, personalized service, and atmosphere: my dinner cost more than my hotel room.
I dined alone on the day after my birthday in July of 2024. The 20 ounce strip Steak is more meat than you should eat in a week, but that's what leftovers are for.
The jumbo shrimp Cocktail is a must. Appetizer? It's like a main course in and if itself as it comes to the table like some ethereal potion, with the dry ice mysteriously smoking, and the other diners are instantly envious.
I also ordered a lobster tail, which made it a surf n turf trifecta!
My server suggested a shiraz pairing to go with my Steak. The personalized service from a lovely Nepalese young lady was icing on the cake. She really made the experience even better.
Also, the music made the ambience even more so; jazz. I noticed 2 or 3 David Sanborn songs, and since I saw him play in Hk in 2011 coupled by the fact he passed on recently was a bit of nostalgic poignancy and serendipity.
They gave me a free dessert as my birthday was July 14th and today is the 15th.
I had the Steak and bread wrapped up to go and washed down my 2 hour meal with my shiraz.
In conclusion, I highly recommend Mortons Steakhouse in Hong Kong wholeheartedly.
I had a fantastic...
Read moreBooked window side table in.advance for nice Christmas Lunch. Unfortunately the lady at checkin did not verify our reservations as asked. It was Christmas so we went with the flow so as not to ruin our day. Ordered drinks and the special Set Christmas lunch... Waited, waited and waited for drinks, asked waitress and finally they showed up. Must have sat at bar for a while as my drink had a nice water/melted ice layer ruining our drinks as my wife's was warm/a lemon drop should not be warm nor a Manhattan be watered down, especially at those prices. Manager had seen the drinks sat there during lunch as we placed them aside and ordered wine with lunch. Lost cause and a waste of time and money. Sad as our last visit for my birthday was great. I was so looking forward to a great lunch with my wife for Christmas... Would not doubt it if those drinks are not still sitting there, very sad for the quality restaurant this is supposed to be and usually is at other places around the world. We should of just ate at the Sheraton in house restaurants, the quality of food and Service in the Sheraton Hong Kong is exceptional. To bad Mortons a premium outlet...
