Best Indian Restaurant in Hongkong !
Ambience unbeatable! Taste is better than India and probably beyond…believe it!
It’s the best curry house in Hongkong, Fantastic value, Great service, Perfect venue with surprising Indian flavours from such a diverse culinary destination.
Moti Palace Restaurant is a culinary delight offering wonderful authentic Indian traditional food served into a finer-dining restaurant setting. Every dish is outstanding and service is excellent.
Taste: In terms of freshness and taste, this restaurant is the Winner. The restaurant is always busy, which is a proof that they have steadily been making inroads into the community. We highly recommend Butter Chicken and Chicken tikka masala (sizzler),Chicken curry , Butter Paneer Masala…these dishes are extremely YUMMY!The paneer & chicken tastes so fresh and delicious…the dishes are super flavorful and normal spicy. Their finger licking Chicken Biryani , Butter Masala dosa, Plain soft Naan ,Makhni dal and Pulao Rice are very authentic and have lasting flavors your soul will appreciate more than ever.
Superb Hospitality:
We received a very warm and hospitable welcome. Staff is very courteous, adorable and kind.
Mr. Jacky Brar, the Owner of Moti Palace is a very generous guy, a perfect punjabi who also owns SWAGAT RESTAURANT & SARAVANA RESTAURANT (pure veg) located on same floor. He welcomes all his guests very cordially and is a very soft-spoken person speaking English, Hindi, Punjabi, Cantonese so well. We use to order our Vegetarian breakfast, Butter Aloo Paranthas and Veg.Pulao from pure vegetarian SARAVANA restaurant. We already had seen many videos of Mr. Jacky Brar over youtube and my 6 years old son, who became his big fan misses him and those chocolates pretty much after coming back to India.
Mr. Laddi Khosla, manager at the restaurant is just awesome and cool. LADDI BHAI certainly is a very nice punjabi guy, talks so nicely with excellent sense of humor. Takes very good care of all guests.
Location: (36-44 Nathan Road, at the heart of Tsim Sha Tsui)
We stayed at Holiday Inn Golden Mile Hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui, Hongkong for 7-8 days in January 2025. Moti Palace is located at the heart of Tsim Sha Tsui.Nearest MTR exit (N5 via Tsim Sha Tsui station) is like, 10 meters away from the hotel's entrance on Mody Street. Every corner you look is a shopping mall, I Square, K11 etc. During entire stay we had our Dinner & Breakfast (daily) at Moti Palace Indian restaurant which is right next to our hotel.
To all those reading my review, please note that food by Moti Palace is extremely delicious and will surely leave so many flavours in the mouth. Service is top notch & impeccable. Staff is so polite and attentive, ready to assist and create a welcoming atmosphere, making you feel at home. With its inviting ambience, exceptional service and delectable dishes, its no wonder that we are definitely going to visit them again next time on my visit to HKG. Read moreAllow me to suggest a few improvements that could enhance our visit to the Moti Palace Indian Restaurant. By implementing these changes, the restaurant has the potential to provide exceptional service and create an enjoyable atmosphere for all its guests.
Welcoming Guests with Warmth and Courtesy: To start off your dining experience on the right note, it is crucial for the staff at the reception to greet guests and inquire about their party size. This simple gesture not only makes guests feel valued but also ensures they are directed to their tables promptly. By making this adjustment, the restaurant can create a more welcoming environment for its patrons.
Efficient Order Taking and Service: In any dining establishment, prompt and efficient service is key. It is essential for the staff to be attentive, especially when taking orders. By ensuring that waiters are readily available and responsive to guests' needs, the restaurant can improve the overall dining experience. This will also help in avoiding any inconvenience caused by repeated calling for assistance.
Timing the Bill Presentation: Timing is everything, even when it comes to presenting the bill. It is important for the staff to be considerate and attentive to the guests' dining experience. Slapping the bill on the table before the guests have finished their meal can be disruptive and diminish the overall satisfaction. By being mindful of the right moment to present the bill, the restaurant can create a more relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere for its guests.
Addressing Feedback with Openness: Customer feedback is invaluable for any business. When concerns are raised, it is essential for the restaurant staff, including the owner, to address them with openness and empathy. By demonstrating a willingness to listen and find solutions, the restaurant can foster a positive relationship with its customers. This open approach can help prevent misunderstandings and foster a respectful environment for all parties involved.
By implementing these suggestions, the restaurant has the potential for more go-to dining spot for locals and visitors alike. With warm and courteous greetings, efficient service, and a considerate approach to timing, the restaurant can transform the dining experience and leave a lasting positive impression on its customers. Remember, customer satisfaction should always be a top priority, and by embracing these improvements, the restaurant can create an atmosphere that keeps guests coming...
Read moreSpeaking of Indian food, I really like the variety of spices they use and the fact that lamb plays a main role in their cuisine. Googled for some genuine Indian food instead of the fancy pricey ones and saw tons of positive reviews on Moti Palace in Chungking Mansion.
Once we sat down, the staff served papadum with peppermint sauce as a complimentary appetizer. Light and crisp, slightly peppery. Perfect snack to start with.
Lamb Soup $58 Intense and heartwarming. Not salty at all! The lamb flavor was strong with a starch-thickened texture.
Subz Kadhai $88 Vegetarian choice. Paneer, cauliflower, beans and corn sauteed in onion tomato based curry.
Tandoori Chicken (Half) $98 4 pieces of tender chicken legs marinated in yogurt and spices. Served on a sizzling hot iron plate. The onions beneath the chicken were seared well and we're harmonious with the immense tandoori masala.
Lamb Vindaloo $118 Seriously tasty and hot! Fork-tender pieces of lamb simmered in a rich vindaloo sauce. The potatoes inside had also soaked up the herbs and spices' flavors. One of my favorite!
Garlic Naan $28 Thick roasted naan bread. Soft and chewy. Nicely charred.
Kingfisher beer, easy to drink, refreshing. Must-have at Indian restaurants. Paired well with the generally bold flavors of the food.
Good vibes with the upbeat music and Indian tv shows. Friendly staff. Impressive food! Highly recommend Moti Palace to anyone who is looking for aromatic curries and...
