@odysseehk panoramic view of #hongkong Victoria Harbour is #special Located at 101th floor of ICC building

A celebration 🍾 lunch for the #newlyweds @springrolllll & @peleggo is the #ideal location

With my dear beloved friend & ex @joel.robuchon colleague @jerometaverson at the helm to man the house. You can tell the meal and service will be #spectacular

We opted for the 5 course Odyssey Special Lunch menu at HKD$880 = USD $128 per head, it includes a glass of wine. I think it is good value for money 💰

We started with the trio amuse bouse of mackerel, beetroot ricotta tarlet & #beeftartare followed by rustic sour dough with the #legendary bordelaise #French #butter

Lagostine & caviar with pumpkin puree set the mood of the meal

The smoked #foiegras with freshly grated horseradish was a lovely touch to cut the greasiness and uplifted the flavour

The fish course is beautifully delicate with solid cooking skills. Crispy fish skin and melt in your mouth meat, nicely paired with caramelised baby onion.

The main course we had both the options of the #kobe #wagyu and pigeon both were cooked to perfection. WAGYU was paired with charred watermelon, which was a lovely touch with the salty and sweet umami sensation. PIGEON with the slightly spiced demi glas sauce was rich and well complimented

Of course, the last but not least the dessert selection #blowmymind from the delicate tarte au citron, fluffy raspberries soufflé with lychee sorbet, classic Opera chocolate cake to selection of French cheeses 🧀 😋

Follow by the surprise dessert in congratulating the newlyweds

We were turly #spoiled and #pamper

#musttry #mustvisit #hongkong #foodie #review #destination #dining #mylove...

I’m baffled that this restaurant is considered fine dining... It’s almost like a parody of French cuisine. The foie gras, which we paid extra for, was a true experience, just not the kind you’d want. It was served at a temperature that made me wonder if it had been sitting out waiting for its moment to disappoint. The texture was disturbingly firm, bland, and easily the most unappetizing foie gras I’ve ever encountered.

As for the main course, the chicken was a masterpiece of dryness, tough enough to make chewing feel like a workout. Forget tender and juicy; this was a culinary achievement in how not to cook poultry.

Then came the dessert, which was an exercise in excess. I’ve never had a soufflé that tasted like a mouthful of granulated sugar. It was so sweet that it left me questioning whether I was dining or just partaking in an elaborate sugar challenge.

And the pièce de résistance? The staff kindly informed us, "The meal includes tea; may I ask what you would like to drink?" Naturally, we were later delighted to find out that drinks weren’t included at all but instead came with a separate charge. I’m just in awe of how a restaurant of this supposed caliber feels the need to employ such creative sales tactics. Surely, encouraging customers to order drinks through honesty would be too passé for an establishment of...

Excellent food, mediocre service.

We thoroughly enjoyed the food here - very nice combination of flavors with interesting twists. From the bread with smoked butter to the petite fours to the little souvenir they let you take home, everything is well thought and enjoyable. Out of the 10 (including the amuse bouche) courses, we particularly enjoyed the foie gras with langoustine, the pigeon and the strawberry meringue dessert. The food are really the stars of this restaurant.

However, service definitely needs improvement. Throughout our entire meal no one cared to pour water for us; bread crumbs were left on table even until the end of our meal; staff seem to be in a rush when placing utensils/changing our plates (one staff even rudely placed our main courses on the table that the plate hit the utensils such that a sound is made); staff don't seem to be knowledgeable about the food they're serving (one even said "vegetable sauce made with vegetable")...the list goes on. I genuinely enjoyed the food here so I really hope the service can match up to the food...

Small room with a view on the kitchen on one side and Victoria harbor on the other, if you are lucky to have a table by the window. (I was.) Staff is competent, polite and efficient, I had a 9-course tasting menu and it was served at the right clip they even asked if I wanted to go faster or slower but it was just right. The French creations were all good and innovative, no quibbles. I give it 5 stars because of the above but want to point to two minuses. I ordered lobster as an extra option in the menu, and for an additional 300 HKD I got a minuscule bite of lobster inside a zucchini, with a sea urchin on top. Really very tasty and really very small piece of lobster. I know lobster is expensive, but still. The other minus is the quality to price ratio. My bill was HKG 1957 with NO alcohol, about 229 euro which I found excessive. (The do have a mostly French list available.)

We visited this restaurant for a birthday dinner celebration, and overall, it was a decent experience. The food was quite good—skilfully cooked and satisfactory in taste. The view of the ocean is better during the day. However, the service left a bit to be desired. The waitstaff seemed preoccupied with setting up empty tables and wiping glasses, which made it challenging to get their attention. It took a while for them to assist us, and at one point, they even cleaned tables right next to us with spray while we were eating. Additionally, they didn’t offer to take a picture for us with the birthday cake, and I had to approach them a few times to ask for help with photos and for cutlery. Overall, the food and view were nice, but the service could definitely use some improvement. 2 of us spent ~$3,300 at the end with 3 courses each with a half bottle of wine.
