Pho Bo — Restaurant in Kowloon

I seldom complain or comment on an establishment, unless in extreme circumstances, whether good or bad. I believe this is the time to mount my immense displeasure with this Vietnamese styled restaurant.

I came last night with a friend of mine to try out a range of items in the premises which consisted of Pho Noodles and Fried Rice. The food and quantity itself is acceptable for the price. Nothing noteworthy to comment on.

The problem I had was with the service. We finished our food and still had drinks, but there were more customers waiting. I understand that business is difficult and part of the customs in Hong Kong is to finish quick to let other customers, who are going to order, to populate the tables. That is not a big problem if they asked us politely. Our table was cleaned up fast and the waitress stood there and gave us a death stare like we can read minds without telling us what was happening. We understood the situation and didn't want to cause any problems regardless. We wanted to quickly finish the drinks, but they wouldn't even entertain the idea and just stood there staring, wanting us to leave. Servings of this place was huge, let's say the bowl was big as a plate! I ordered the all meat special pho but I was getting confused how the broth was tasting because of all the meats mixed in? Good Vietnamese option in Sham Shui Po! The 火车头 is a huge portion, enough for 2 people for sure! It has a good variety of toppings. I like that you can pick and choose toppings for your pho (they have 1 item, 2 item, 3 item options etc.).

The suckling pig platter was good for sharing, and pork was crispy. The default sweet watercress drink that comes with your meal was good as well. I think they have better deals for lunch...
