The newly opened Peninsula boutique and cafe offers my new favourite afternoon tea in town! The afternoon tea set is 595 HKD for two people, and 345 for an additional person, with 10% service charge. It is cheaper compared to the Peninsula lobby afternoon tea (748 HKD for two people + 10% service charge) and I personally found the boutique and cafe afternoon tea set much better in terms of food quality!
Compared to other popular well known afternoon tea set in Hong Kong such as the one offered by Butterfly Room at Rosewood(798 for two people), peninsula boutique and cafe is definitely at the same level in terms of food quality and service, and tbh I think their presentation is even better (more Instgrammable)!!
Though, because of its popularity, it only accepts same day walk-in reservation on a first come first served basis. The cafes open at 10, and normally people start queuing up for reservation around 9:45 a.m.. (early bird gets the worm) There are three sessions of afternoon tea to choose from, 1:30-3:00, 3:00 -4:30 and 4:30 - 6:00. So good luck everyone!!
For the beverage, it was a little disappointing, we ordered iced tea (peninsula blend/ jasmine) and it tasted just like black iced tea. A lot of cold brew tea out at the market did a better job than them LOL so try avoid iced tea...
Read moreUpdate review 2025: 2 Stars It is no longer worth visiting. The quality has fallen drastically since last visit in 2023. We ordered a Miffy collaboration Mango Parfait and Coconut Pandan Cake plus 2 coffees. The cake was good quality but the Miffy Parfait was so bad I only ate 1/4 of it and gave up. The icecream was already too soft on serving, it had started to melt. It taste horribly sweet with one dimension flavour. Coffee was average as well. The available cakes on display looked dismal compared to the selection they use to have a few years ago. Service is still good and setting is nice and quiet. I can no longer recommend this cafe in 2025.
Review in 2023: 5 Stars Cakes were perfect, coffee perfect, service perfect. The only thing I would have liked better would be if the expresso in the Affogato was less bitter. It’s a small cafe with only 4 tables, make a reservation to make sure you...
Read moreRecommend to visit only if you're dressing in luxury brands. We pre-order mooncake and choose to pick up on 9/2 which was shutted down due to typhoon, but there's no notification to inform customer to reschedule the pick up- no matter by call or by mail, they just asked us to come in the next day, we also understood and came in the next day. There’s many customers queued in front of the café before opened, however there's a woman with dramatic luxury bag came rudely and skipped the queue, all of us told that woman and bakery staff that we ALL ARE WAITING AS WELL, but that woman and staffs just ignored,...
