Overall, food quality is generally good, drink average but the service really needs a lot of improvement. The 2-star isles stage disappointment in how they handle customers mostly. It is not a cheap cafe nor a super expensive and not expecting huge from them but have o wait for almost 1.5 hour for a dish of waffle and with unreasonable reason, it is unbearable…. It is ok to make mistake but it is not ok not to be just honest and handled it properly …. Anyway ..
Food quality is definitely a plus. the sourdough bread is airy, balanced and chew right in texture. The Benedict was very well cooked and quite impressive with crispy bread and a rich hollandaise source. The look of it wins a lot too.
The waffle is very egg and moist, interesting to add an Oreo cookie in it but it is a bit burnt on the outside and would be better if the crisp at the edge can be managed a bit cause dishes come in different standards when looked around other tables.
Drink is a bit flat .. the mocha latte is grainy and not too smooth but nicely presented. There are interesting drinks which looks tasty and worth trying.
The space is ok in space and comfy. May need some more experience manager on the floor to help managing customers’...
Read moreThere are so many good reviews in openrice, but I don’t think the food are as good as the other mentioned. The creamy portobello mushroom orecchiette is not up to my standard. The sauce is not thick enough so the orecchiette can’t hold much sauce. The flavour from the black truffle sauce aren’t strong as well, so overall it is quite a fair pasta dish. The cheesy meat ball and gnocchi is the worst. Although it is piping hot, the meatball are too bouncy and the tomato sauce is way too sour. The gnocchi is rough and hard to chew and the goat cheese is quite stink. The best of all is the earl grey egg pudding. It is jiggly and smooth. The taste of eggs and tea are fragrant but the caramel flavour isn’t coming from the pudding but the sauce at the bottom. The drinks are also quite bad. The passion fruit sparkling ade is a bit too sweet. The matcha latte is too bad that I can’t even taste either the match or the milk. The food is just too bad. The seatings are close to each other and the service are not good. Overall, the experience is very unpleasant. I strongly recommend not...
Read moreStumbled upon this gem of a cafe while city walking HK as a tourist. The vibe is great. Clearly, extremely popular given the no of people waiting for a table. Food and service on point. However, pls pls do not order the Tiramisu if you are a fan of the dessert. Aesthetically faultless, IG worthy for sure. However, the fingers were as dry as the croutons in my salad, as they ought to be in a salad, not the case with Tiramisu. The dessert had zero (seriously not even a hint) espresso flavour. It was really just mascarpone beautifully layered on top of dry lady fingers, sprinkled with a generous dusting of chocolate power. Sorry, this really is the worst Tiramisu I had ever eaten. Maybe I had a bad serve. Because otherwise the coffee and salad I had were sumptuous and generous in portion...
