finally getting around to write this review lol ive been to this place twice and got the exact same order 😹 叉燒炒蛋飯+凍奶茶 and its crazy how they manage to maintain the same high level quality. they have a small menu, but they really focus on keeping the same standard every single time you enter
i think the unique point about this place is they rely less on condiments and moreso focus on working with the inherent flavor of the charsiu. portion wise it's a bit on the bigger side even though it doesn't look like a lot, seasoning and texture (eggs and all) is just right~
but the star really is the milk tea. a bit more mellow and on the milkier side, but still smooth and refreshing, definitely one of the better milk teas ive had 🫶🏼
when you enter the restaurant it's kind of like you're transported to the 70's with its decor and compacted layout. mirrors above the booth seats with neon signs everywhere. popularity wise i would say it's gotten more popular after they released a collaboration product with 'twilight of the warriors', but still quite busy and fast-paced. expect to be rushed by the staff for your order HAHHA. service wise it's average, classic 茶餐廳 behavior i would say
would i come again? yes! the price they ask for is quite worth it in my opinion, but the quality definitely...

The tables are small and space is quite cramped during peak hours, so keep your belongings where you can see them.
P.s. If you understand Cantonese, you'll soon find out that the waitresses are sassy and not to be trifled with. Very amusing...

Ordered the same as I usually do here - Cheese Truffle Toast and Luncheon Meat & Egg Macaroni. There's something magical about macaroni soup in HK cha can teng. Such comforting breakfast food, especially on a rainy morning like today.
They are famous for their fluffy creamy scrambled eggs, so most would order the Truffle Scrambled Egg Toast but I think the Cheese Truffle Toast is the understated one. Though they are less generous with the cheese and truffle now. In fact, the first one came with a strand of hair, and when I highlighted it to the staff, he was initially impatient, not seeing it. After he finally saw it, he just nodded and brought it back to the kitchen and have them replace it. Without apology.
Wonder if they ever tried combining the 2, I think a cheese covered truffle scrambled eggs toast would be quite...
