Finally managed to try HKWN. It was good! I ate enough for 2 people (菠蘿油, 車仔麵, baked pork chop rice, egg waffle with soft serve, iced green tea red bean) since it was my first meal of the day. Overall very enjoyable! The pineapple bun was great (excellent-tasting cold butter, much cleaner than most 茶餐廳, warm from the toaster oven). The noodles were really good (fun to try the various ingredients... lots of reason to come back and try other variations). The baked pork chop rice was alright. Texturally it was good, crispy bits of rice on the bottom, and the fried egg was interesting, but something was odd about the taste of the sauce. Maybe too much butter? Maybe a little too sweet...? I missed the 太平官-like flavor of the dish. Egg waffle dish was stunning in presentation and full of nostalgia. Loved how the waffle absorbed flavors from the condensed milk/soft serve. Think the soft serve itself could have been a little creamier but otherwise no complaints about this dish, it was very fun to eat. The drink was alright. I got it at the waitress' recommendation. Curious to try the HK milk tea next time. The waitress was very friendly and helpful in assisting me with my order. Actually, the staff in general were friendly and helpful. The QR code system was a little tough to figure out but she offered to help me do it on her phone. Overall very delicious experience! I can see why some people come back a few times a week.

Hong Kong Wing Nin, located on the ground floor of New Town Plaza, offers a wide range of menu on local cuisine. Dinner was almost full even on a weekday. We started the meal with some greens. Caesar salad with chicken and salted fish. Creative combination. Refreshing. Baked ox tail soup with puff pastry. The pastry was flaky on the surface. The soup was superb, not just a sweet and sour HK style borscht. Instead this was a clear broth with savory taste of beef and rich tomatoes. Hanger steak is one of my favorite cut for hot pot, but enjoying it on an iron plate was my very first time. Impressive! Thick cut. Not soda powder tenderized, had a good texture and was still easy to chew. Tasted beefy. Sirloin was a huge piece. Super tender meat. Went well with both the black pepper sauce and signature spicy sauce. The steaks were well-seasoned. Served with hot thick fries and a veggies platter. You know what? The best thing about this place was that they sold wine! Normally this kind of restaurants don't serve alcohol at all. One glass of house red was only +$25 with the set!

🀄️ Hk Wing nin 香港永年車仔麵 (shatin) Haven’t had Chinese dishes in a while and HK wing nin really satisfied my cravings! We ordered the 2 people set that comes with a choice of 2 dishes, 2 bowls of rice. 2 bowls of soup, a plate of veggies and two drinks! The soup was tasteless at first but after adding salt it was so much better 😂 First dish: The soy sauce chicken was yum. We ordered regular size and it came with tons of meat! They did not cheap out at all. Second dish: The beef vermicelli bowl was pretty good. The beef was not chewy and the vermicelli was cooked well. The pineapples were very fresh which gave this dish a kick. We added $41 to add an extra dish which is a steamed fish! The fish came with a salty sauce and it was super salty but the fish itself was very meaty 🙂

We chanced upon HK Wing Nin @Shatin recently and decided to try its signature chezaimian (cart noodles), typically an iconic food there. As we were not familiar with the types of "ingredients" available or to order, we tried the more inclusive all-in sets: Wing Nin Big-Bowl Noodles and Man-God Noodles. The many ingredients included: Fried pig-skin, curdled pig's blood, pig intestine, pig oviduct, red Chinese sausage, pork sausage, braised chicken-wings, Spam luncheon meat, beef-balls, beef offal, fried fish-balls, cuttlefish, fishcake, crabstick, green vegetables, spinach, dried mushrooms, white radish. In the end, we had to conclude that "cart noodles" can only be an acquired taste for most people!

Came here for breakfast and dinner. Breakfast set menu was ok, not too special. But I had one of the best noodles for dinner. Not sure what was ordered but its mixed of pork innards, with chilli sauce added. Amazing noodle and broth. Absolutely enjoying every bite of it. If you never tried pork organs, you are missing out. Definitely worth the try! The only problem is menu are all in cantonese. Even if you go through their web ordering portal, its all in Cantonese. But when we went there, one of the staff can speak English pretty well so he helped us with our order. Still a fun experience for me :) Definitely give it a go when you’re in the area.

您愛吃豉油西餐嗎? 豉油西餐是車媽媽小時候最愛的美食,在荃灣長大的我就最愛去莎X美吃扒餐,因為每次吃完也會有啫喱糖同雪糕食還有黑牛飲呢!到出來工作便愛到風味十足的X鳳、X寶石、飛X,還有不少這類型的餐廳我都會去幫襯。 某天沙田友通知我沙田香港永年車仔麵茶冰廳推出了期間限定全新港式慢煮鐵板套餐,那份情意結誘使到我即時約上好友一起去回味。 永年剛推出了低溫慢煮2小時的肉扒的鐵板餐作招徠,在客人點餐後才將肉扒煎香再熱辣辣放於鐵板上檯淋汁,扒餐由細食到大但低溫慢煮的鐵板餐確令我有點期待。 看見那塊熟悉的格仔檯布感覺就已經對了,但環境就比很多老牌餐廳寬敞舒適得多。 點每款港式慢煮鐵板套餐均可有自選沙律或餐湯、主菜及餐飲,車爸爸選了至愛的奶茶他說香滑兼備好喜歡。 我例牌凍檸檬茶走甜茶底味夠香檸檬亦好新鮮Very Good喎! 喜歡吃包包的可以點鐵板套餐之餘加$18配招牌香脆蒜蓉包一客,包中除了蒜蓉還有芝士味在內,吃下口感香脆不油格外惹味。 前菜可自選沙律或餐湯我們人多當然掃餐牌啦!先有材料十足的牛油果薯仔蝦沙律,香滑牛油果配爽甜大蝦還有粉淋薯仔當然好吃。 然後還有中西合壁破格的雞扒鹹魚凱撒沙律,凱撒沙律吃得多加了鹹魚的真是第一次品嚐,加上香口雞扒件和新鮮羅馬生菜也是好味之選。 怕吃生冷沙律的朋友則可選擇熱辣辣的餐湯,我選了周打蜆肉魚湯以鰹魚湯底加入大量新鮮活蜆、薯仔及忌廉炮製而成,湯頭濃稠得可以味道非常鮮甜內裏還有滿滿的豐富的湯料,勸喻細食的您別喝罷整碗魚湯否則會連主菜也吃不下。 另一款牛尾羅宋湯車爸爸豪氣地加了$15升級至酥皮牛尾羅宋湯,這$15建議大家不要吝嗇皆因焗得非常酥脆可口。 聞說牛尾羅宋湯充滿濃郁的牛肉香氣,加上酸酸甜甜的羅宋湯底絕對沒有一絲膩感,喜歡牛肉的朋友萬物錯過喔。 作為牛魔王的車爸爸當然選擇品嚐這個美國安格斯封門柳$228,打開邊爐的朋友也知道這個部位比較罕有,以這個價錢可以吃得到我覺得挺有驚喜。 醬汁方面有招牌辣椒汁、黑椒汁及洋蔥汁可選車爸爸就點了洋蔥汁,即場傾下熱騰騰的鐵板上滋滋作響然後煙霧迷漫正是吃鐵板餐的精髓所在。 除了牛扒外更配有多款新鮮時令雜菜,我們得到番茄、啡靈菇、白菌、椰菜花、西蘭花及粟米營養均衡,以蒜蓉炒至香氣撲鼻再置於另一塊微暖的鐵板奉客很貼心。 車爸爸點上三成熟的美國安格斯封門柳成品來到確守諾言,吃上一口後的他露出滿足的表情便知這牛扒必定高質好味。 而我則選上西班牙熟成白毛豬扒$208,兩大件白毛豬扒超巨型我分了一件給車爸爸才能完成呢! 侍應誠意推介永年招牌辣椒汁給我,此汁醬由永年士多自家研發混合多香料炮製而成,味道帶點香辣鮮辛嗜辣的我吃得份外過癮。 至於西班牙熟成白毛豬扒肉質紮實富嚼勁絕非霉淋雪藏豬扒能媲美。 好友點了這兒全港首創的招牌鐵板佛跳牆車仔麵$198,內裡有不少奢華食材包括有紅燒八頭鮑、鮑汁燜花膠、蜜餞金蠔、蠔皇大花菇、老虎蝦乾及金華火腿等,看材料便知花了多少心機來製作,奢華材料下墊有煎至香脆可口不油膩的幼麵,淋上熬足24小時的秘製鮑汁於鐵板上真的太誘人了吧! 我試了蜜餞金蠔聽聞用上流浮山出品,怪不得吃起來口感柔滑鹹鮮味濃。 若大家意猶未盡還有多款惹味小食、甜品或紅酒的加配優惠,單點每款只需$38起或以$68組合成套餐,大家便額外點了砵酒燴牛尾及秘製瑞士雞翼,我試了一隻瑞士雞翼弄得入味亦嫩口吃得過啊~ 甜品他們選了黑芝麻西多士伴雲呢拿雪糕,用上我至愛的丹麥多士即時加分,內裡是坊間少有的濃郁黑芝麻醬,配上香滑的雲呢拿雪糕甜魔們必定要點來滿足甜牙齒。 當X鳳現在一份西冷牛扒餐連加一都已經賣到$200,我覺得這兒無論食物質素、服務、環境CP值也非常之高值得一吃。
